“When did things change? When did this go from being a whim to being…everything?”
3.5 highly satisfying stars!
After the hideously irritating ending to the last book, Dirty Pleasures, this is a great ending to the Dirty Billionaire trilogy. After their wild and passionate meeting and their intense and angsty beginning, Creighton and Holly have finally found common ground. They’ve come to the point where they admit that they have true feelings for each other and they both acknowledge that their marriage is real and they want it to stay that way, and this book is the culmination of all that they have learned and experienced and it’s one passionate, satisfying, functional, swoonfest!
“Jesus, woman. I fucking love you.”
“What did you say?”
“I said I fucking love you.”
“Do you mean it?”
“Of course I mean it. I rarely say anything I don’t mean.”
Oh Creighton, you have come so far! He has wanted Holly since their first night together and he’s worked hard to get her. And now that he’s head over heels in love, he is even more determined to protect, care for and openly adore his girl.
What I don’t know is how the hell I’m going to get through to her that she isn’t just some kind of ornament in my life. She is my life.
Holly isn’t a woman who will be swayed by words. I know that now. She needs me to show her.
And guess what? That I can fucking do.
I have loved watching the change in him. He’s still a dominant, arrogant, controlling ass with a dirty, dirty mouth, the skills to back it up, and seemingly unending stamina, but watching him open himself up to Holly and so openly put himself out there for her was gorgeous to see.
“You’ve changed everything for me, Holly. Every fucking thing.”
And thank God we’ve seen the end of the stupid behaviour on Holly’s part! I’ve always through she was a strong heroine, but she didn’t always handle things well. In this book she still has issues to sort through but she knows that Creighton isn’t one of them, and I was so impressed with her in this book!
In that moment, my two options become very clear: continue to hold up my walls and be afraid to rest easy in the safety of his arms, or lean into him and let the walls crumble around me.
And then there’s the sex… DAMN. These two have always been on the same sexual wave-length, wanting it hard, passionate and often with a side of kink, but it’s stepped up a notch here with true intimacy coming into the equation and it makes all of their sexcapades even more intense.
“Woman, I’m going to fuck you so hard we break this goddamn table.” … I’m going to fuck the sass right out of my sassy little wife. Well, maybe only most of it. I happen to like her sass. I reach up and grab the front of her lacy thong and rip it off.
“Hey!”
“Unless you’re moaning or saying ‘more’ or ‘harder’ or ‘yes’ or ‘like that’ or ‘Creighton, you’re a fucking pussy-eating god,’ I don’t want to hear it, Holly.”
All tied into the romance, the other loose ends of the series are tied up – the business side of things is resolved, Creighton and Holly both deal with their family issues, and there’s even a twist at the end which, honestly, seemed a bit weird, but still added a nice surprise. I also loved finally meeting Creighton’s sister Greer and I’m looking forward to reading her story in the Dirty Girl duet.
Overall, this was a fun, dirty, super-sexy and (eventually) romantic series that I have really enjoyed. Creighton and Holly’s story had me enthralled from start to finish, and though they had some hiccups along the way, this series is a great mix of sex, angst, intensity, sex, romance and sex. And did I say sex? Hot damn!
A great read – 3.5 stars.
Note – I listened to all three of these books as audiobooks, narrated by Sebastian York (king of the sex voice) and Elena Wolfe. They do a fantastic job, and these books were great fun to listen to!
