4 fated stars!

“I love you…I loved you before I even met you.”

Fate throws us . I didn’t know what to expect going into this book after the cliffy from the second book, Soulmates, except that it would be full of action, excitement, and suspense, and it was. You know a little bit of what’s going on but you still have questions, and knowing more than Alex but not enough to know everything makes you eager to see how the story unfolds. The mystery is well written and the storyline unique. I enjoyed the way the story unraveled with new alliances and different enemies popping up creating surprises and nail-biting action.

Alex wants to find Amanda but there are secrets he needs to uncover and he doesn’t know where to start. In this book, he’s the one having creepy dreams. He knows something bad is going to happen but he is powerless to stop it. It also doesn’t help that he refuses to face the truth: he loves Amanda. He is desperate to uncover the truth yet still doesn’t believe that she truly loves him.

I thought Amanda Bishop might be the one. Never mind she’s a witch and I’m a hunter destined to kill her. Forget the lies and hurt she brought into my life. When she loved me the way I thought she could only ever love herself, I believed the illusion she sold me. The fairytale of a dark queen and a white knight riding off into the sunset together.

Amanda made a decision in the last book and now she has to deal with the consequences. She is selfless and brave as she owns her decisions completely. I loved that she knows it was crazy but she would do it all over again for the people she loves.

“I need you to promise me that when the time comes you won’t hesitate. Finish what you started the day you learned what I was.”
Realization hits like lightning. “Are you asking me to kill you?”
She musters a smile. “I’m asking you to save me.”

There is less game playing between Alex and Amanda in Fate and I loved it. They are not together much of the book but it makes the anticipation of their reunion that much stronger and more intense. We see the love that has always been there hidden in the background as they fought to deny it. No matter the fact that she is the witch and he is the hunter, Amanda and Alex are meant to be.

Overall, I really enjoyed the way this story played out and the ending sets the stage for more.
