ABRAHAM DAVIS—Honest Abe to his friends—IS IN OVER HIS HEAD…

He’s a fixer and a do good-er. The all-knowing, resident “grandfather” on the wrestling team who everyone relies on to fix their problems. His teammates go to him for everything; advice, homework, or when they need a sober driver at three in the morning–whether he likes it or not.

Abe’s current mission is easy: mend his roommates broken heart by helping him find a girlfriend on the LoveU app–without getting caught in the lie…

SKYLAR GABRIEL. IS. OVER. IT.

Over her bad grades. Over her meddling older brother and his two best friends. And over dating douchebags. What she wants to know is: where have all the nice guys gone?

She longs for a handsome, sweet, and honest guy who can make her laugh. In one last ditch effort to prove that he exists—Skylar turns to LoveU.

On her worst day, Skylar has no filter (it’s a miracle she hasn’t been ditched mid-date).
On her best, she’s as wholesome, and sweet, as pie.
On Thursday? She matches with Abraham Davis’s roommate.

Skylar Gabriel is falling for the wrong guy—she just doesn’t realize it yet.

Why?

BECAUSE ABE DAVIS IS A LIAR.

I was so thrilled to learn that Sara Ney was continuing on with the How to Date a Douchebag series! I love these books so much, they are pure NA sports romantic comedy gold, and I loved being back in this world.

Abe Davis is a college wrestler in his junior year, and he is a devoted student who is a bit on the quiet side, preferring studying to partying. He has a heart of gold and is the one that his friends and teammates turn to whenever they need help, to the point that he has been nicknamed the team’s ‘Grandfather’. His latest mission is to help his teammate/roommate, JB, get over his broken heart by trying to find him a girl via the college’s dating app. Abe goes online, vets the matches, starts up a quick dialogue and sets up the dates, leaving JB to take it from there.

Skylar Gabriel’s is a down-to-earth girl whose life is defined by average grades and embracing her love of pyjamas and couch time over the college social life. She has great friends, but she wants to find love – a sweet guy with a sense of humor who is looking for something more than a quick hook-up. With encouragement from her girlfriends, she turns to the college’s dating app hoping to meet somebody.

Within moments of logging in, Skylar matches with JB, and they begin a fun, banter-filled flirtation. They click instantly, and they’re both feeling the attraction which only deepens the longer they keep messaging each other. But the problem is – she’s not falling for JB, she’s falling for Abe. And Abe wants Skylar for himself.

This is such a cute and fun set-up. The chemistry between Abe and Skylar is fantastic, the text conversations are so entertaining, and I couldn’t wait to see how their attraction would translate into real life…. and I was not disappointed! But with their whole relationship built on deception, how will they be able to untangle the lies, and where do they go from here?

“For what it’s worth, I…” It sounds like I’m choking on my words, throat constricting. “I think you’re pretty fucking perfect.”

I really enjoyed this read, it’s a great romance and the characters are fantastic – Skylar is funny and so relatable, and Abe is just gorgeous, sweet and funny, I fell for him so hard. This book can easily be read as a standalone as the only thing really tying it to the series is the setting, but fans will love the cameo from our favourite Douchebag, Zeke, as he imparts his dating wisdom, lol. And that epilogue gives us a glimpse of more that is to come and I cannot wait!

Loved it – 4 stars.
