Blurb
The first time I met Max Yearwood was on a blind date.
Max was insanely gorgeous, funny, and our chemistry was off the charts. He also had the biggest dimples I’d ever laid eyes on.
Exactly what I needed after my breakup.
Or so I thought…
Until my real date arrived.
Turned out, Max wasn’t who I was there to meet. He only pretended to be until my real date showed up.
To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.
Before he left, he slipped me a ticket to a hockey game a few blocks away, in case things didn’t work out on my actual date.
I tossed the ticket into my purse and went about trying to enjoy the man I was supposed to meet.
But my real blind date and I had no connection.
So on my way home, I decided to take a chance and stop by the game.
When I arrived, the seat next to me was empty.
Disappointed again, I decided to leave at the end of the period.
Just before the buzzer, one of the teams scored, and the entire arena went crazy.
A player’s face flashed up on the Jumbotron. He was wearing a helmet, but I froze when he smiled.
You guessed it: Dimples.
Apparently, my fake blind date hadn’t invited me to watch hockey with him, he’d invited me to watch him play.
And so began my adventure with Max Yearwood.
He was everything I needed at the time—fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months since he’d signed with a new team three-thousand miles away.
Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right?
Though, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

A fun, chemistry-filled romance that is sweet, sexy and gorgeously heartfelt, with an irresistibly swoony hero. I loved this one!
Max and Georgia meet when Georgia is waiting on a blind date, Max steps in pretending to be the guy, and they get along wonderfully… until her real date shows up. Not willing to miss his chance, Max gives Georgia tickets to a hockey game he will be at that night, and asks her to come along if things don’t worth out. And what do you know? It turns out the date is a dud, and Georgia rocks up to the hockey game only to discover that Max didn’t invite her along to watch with him, he’s actually playing, and he’s the team captain.
It’s such a fun set up, and things get even better from there when Max goes all out to win Georgia over. But her romantic situation is complicated Georgia was actually engaged until she discovered her fiancé announced that he wanted an open relationship and up and moved to England for a year, where he is banging his way through London. Georgia is not happy about it, and hasn’t been with anybody since he left, but has no real clue what to think. Her blind date was an effort to move on, but she still has some emotional ties to her ex. It’s a little odd, but definitely did not feel like cheating, and provides a unique situation for her and Max to navigate.. Max is not deterred though, and when he confesses that he’ll be trading teams at the end of the summer and moving to the other side of the country, they agree to a summer-long fling which will end when he leaves.
“Magic, sweetheart,” he said. “We’re going to make magic.”
God, I love Max! He’s such a sweetheart with just the right amount of cocky confidence. And so freaking swoony! I love how he puts himself out there for Georgia, openly and charmingly pursuing her, and his sexy flirting brings just the right amount of alpha hotness.
And together, these two are fantastic! The banter is so entertaniing, and they have wonderful chemistry. I was revelling in every interaction between the two of them, bouncing with anticipation of something happening, and when it does… hotness!!! And more than just the sexy time, they have fun, they flirt, they laugh, and they ‘get’ each other. They’re open with each other, and they hold nothing back, throwing themselves into what is essentially a real relationship, just one with a time limit. But everything changes as their time together comes to an end.
“If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If not, go fuck yourself because you were an idiot for letting it go in the first place.”
Like other Keeland books, there is drama and depth as the story shifts, and I loved the journey as it all played out. Some of it was expected, some of it wasn’t, and even though they may make mistakes along the way, I loved seeing it all come together as Max and Georgia find their HEA.
“It was always you.”
I loved this book. It’s a light and easy read, with just enough drama to add some nice intensity. I though the ending was a bit abrupt and didn’t really seem to match the pacing of the rest of the book, and I would have like to have seen just a little bit more of these two, but I was happy with how it all ended up.

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Andie Arndt and Sebastian York, and as always, they do a wonderful job with it. Definitely recommend listening to this one.
