A fun, feisty and sexy paranormal romance, this is a fun read, and I loved coming back to this world.

This is book #6 in the Dark in You series, a spin-off to the original story (Nox and Harper’s story takes up books #1-#4), it can be read as a standalone – though don’t miss out on the earlier books, because they’re great reads.

This is Keenan and Khloe’s story. Keenan is a sentinel for demon Prime, Nox, and Khloe is a cousin to Harper. They have known each other for a while, and while there is an attraction there, they are complete opposites – he is serious and controlled, she is an imp and is playful, mischevious, and blasé about everything. But when a playful bet turns sexual, the spark is lit, and then it’s all on.

It’s super hot, and they share a rare connection, but just when they’re starting to explore their lusty new relationship, Khloe and her lair become the target for a deranged killer, and somebody from Keenan’s past is back in town and looking to stir up trouble. It brings both the sentinels and the Wallace clan together to fight the threats, and there is some very cool supernatural badassery.

For me, it was all about the love story, and it’s steamy and intense, and everything I expected from a Suzanne Wright romance. I enjoyed watching the change in their relationship as Keenan and Khloe open up, commit to each other, start to lean on each other and develop feelings. The demon-as-a-separate-entity aspect is well developed, especially as these two have significant differences that they need to accept about each other before they can even contemplate a future together. Their relationship may have its challenges, but it’s super functional, they talk about everything, explaining themselves and their actions along the way, and I love how matter-of-fact they area as they navigate the ups and downs of the drama they’re dealing with, and their journey as a couple.

The rest of the crew are heavily involved, of course, and I enjoyed catching up with this big group of friends and family, especially those fun moments that made me laugh.

I really enjoyed this one. It’s a fun and engaging read with a great romance.
