This is a wonderful urban fantasy series that has a great mix of magic and paranormal goings on. It’s a unique perspective on a dangerous post-apocalyptic world that sways between waves of magic and tech, giving power to paranormal creatures and leaving disaster in its wake.
These books are action packed from start to finish, instantly sweeping you up up in the horror and excitement of it all. There is violence and gore, and the world is complex, but the constant sarcasm and epic banter between characters keeps it light enough to make these books fun and highly entertaining.
Kate Daniels is a sarcastic, badass mercenary who cleans up all sorts of paranormal messes in her scary world, and there is a deliciously sexual-tension-riddled romance that builds throughout the first few books before the eventual hook up leads to a strong romance that is important, but doesn’t overpower everything else that is happening in the series.
Each book is a complete story that finishes well with no cliffhangers, but there is one, overarching storyline so be sure to read these books in order!
