Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of the queens of YA paranormal/fantasy. With the release of From Blood and Ash, she burst onto the adult fantasy scene with the beginning of the Blood and Ash series, and an incredible story that I, and so many others, are completely obsessed with!

She then made her fantasy world even more amazing by writing the Flesh and Fire series, a spin-off prequel story set centuries before the original series, but that is closely intermingled.

You can read each series independently of the other, but I would absolutely recommend blending the two for maximum effect.  The complexity of the worlds, the intricacies of the storylines and how cleverly these characters are all woven together, blows my mind, so to experience it as intended, read it in publication order.
