Blurb
The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.
I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.
He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.
So I told him to mind his own damn business—his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business—and went back to my miserable date.
When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.
I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.
When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.
But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us—telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.
My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.
When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.
I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people?
Then again…
What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

4.5 ‘lovin’ the bossman’ stars
OMG, this was such a great read! Smart, funny, sexy and romantic with epic banter, heaps of chemistry and a whole lot of heart. It’s fun with a nice amount of drama and feels, and I devoured it in one sitting. I loved it!
Reese Annesley is on a first date which is boring her to death when she is ‘rescued’ by Chase Parker – a brash, gorgeous stranger who overhears her complaining to her best friend on the phone and crashes in on her dinner with his date to make it a double and save her night. They slip into an easy ruse of playing ex-high school sweethearts, and have a blast while doing it.
There are a few more accidental run ins after their first encounter – each one more flirtatious and banter-filled than the last, heightening their attraction to each other so that the sexual tension is sizzling. Which makes thing all kinds of awkward then Reese gets the marketing job of her dreams at the company that Chase owns and runs. Well, awkward for Reese, Chase sees it as an opportunity.
“You want the truth? … I’m attracted to you. Really attracted to you. Have been since the first time I saw you. Tried to be respectful, considering you were seeing someone. Done doing that. If you work here, I’m going to try to get you into my bed.”
OMG, this man is sensational! Sexy, confident, and charmingly arrogant, he doesn’t hide his feelings from Reese. He wants her, and he takes every opportunity to let her know, and it’s freaking hilarious! The constant flirting and dirty talk is both super-hot and laugh-out-loud funny, and the banter is epic!
“I figured I’d lay all my cards on the table. You’re not having sex. I’m not having sex. Thought maybe we could work through our problem together.”
“I don’t have a problem.”
“So why aren’t you having sex, then?”
“Why aren’t you?”
“Because I’d like to have it with you, and you haven’t given in to me. Yet” He brought the beer to his lips and watched me as he drank.
“I can’t believe we’re having this conversation. You know I’m seeing someone.”
“I do. That’s why we’re having this conversation. If you weren’t seeing someone, I’d have you up on that kitchen island showing you what I want to do to you, rather than telling you.”
“Is that so?”
He moved closer. “It is.”
“What if I’m not into you in that way?”
Chase looked down, his eyes lingering on my nipples. My very erect nipples. “Your body says otherwise.”
Of course it’s made all the more intense by the fact that Reese wants him just as badly. But she’s been burned by an office romance gone wrong before, and she’s not keen to make the same mistakes again. But their attraction proves to be irresistible, and oh holy God it’s HOT!!!
“You’re fired,” he groaned as he buried his face in my hair. “So fucking fired.”
And it’s not just sex. There’s a true connection between them which is explored beautifully, and I could feel the true emotion as they effortlessly slipped into something meaningful.
He stared into my eyes like he could see inside me. It made me feel exposed, yet beautifully accepted.
“We’ve both been fighting it for different reasons. But you’ve been mine since I saw you.”
OMG, I love these characters! Reese is a great heroine – smart, sensible, wonderfully witty and instantly relatable, she’s a great match for Chase’s huge personality. The man is just perfection! He has that charming arrogance thing happening, he’s a dirty talker who is sexy as all hell, but he’s also funny and sensitive, a genuinely nice guy with a huge heart, and I just adored him! And together they are something very special. What I love most (apart from their insane chemistry) is the fact that they wear their hearts (and their libidos) on their sleeves. They don’t hide the fact that they’re attracted to each other or the true feelings that start to develop. They’re honest and open, and they get it all out there, asking when they aren’t sure about something, talking when they have a problem, and sharing what’s going on in their heads and their hearts, and it’s SO refreshing!
“I want more with you. I can’t promise you what that is or where it will go, but it’s more than just physical. I’m attracted to everything about you – you’re smart, honest, funny, brave, a little nutty – and you make me smile for no reason. There’s no denying I want you in my bed. I think you’ve caught on to that part by now. But I want this, too. I’m tired of looking back. It’s been a long time since I’ve wanted to live in the moment.”
There is some drama in the form of old pains from the past resurfacing, and though it’s heartbreaking, I thought it added a wonderful depth to the story. It shows a different side to both of the characters who are placed in an incredibly emotional situation, and it’s handled realistically, written in a way where I could feel everything that they were both feeling, and it gave the story a wonderful edge.
I loved it! Absolutely freaking loved it. It’s a great read with the perfect balance of humour, romance, sex and drama, and a swoontastic epilogue to finish it all off.
4.5 stars.

Sorry, I wasn’t looking where—”
I froze.
The sight of Chase standing there was almost enough to knock me over. I’d secretly hoped to see him, yet never thought I actually would. What are the chances? I did a double take, sure I was seeing things. But it was him all right, in the flesh. And what flesh it is. Standing there shirtless and wet—wearing nothing but a pair of low-slung swim trunks—he had me stuttering. Literally.
“Ch…Ch…Ch—” I couldn’t get the word out.
Of course, Chase didn’t miss a beat. He smirked and leaned in. “You do a cute train impression, Buttercup.”
He remembers me.
I shook my head, attempting to snap myself out of it. But it was no use. He was so tall, and I was so short, I had no choice but to stare at his body. Water trickled down his abs. I was mesmerized watching it speed up and slow down as it crossed the rippled lines of his six-pack. Damn.
I cleared my throat and finally spoke. “Chase.”
I was pretty freaking proud of myself for getting that much out. He had a towel slung around his neck and lifted it to dry off his dripping hair, revealing even more flesh. His pectoral muscles were carved and perfect. And—oh, my God…is that… Holy shit. It is. His nipples were cold and erect, and one of them was….was…pierced.
