4 alpha biker stars
Book 6 in the Reapers MC series, this is a great read! Gage and Tinker’s story was hinted at in the last book of the series, and I’ve been desperate to get my hands on this book ever since. Intense and gritty, dramatic and angsty with sensational UST, passionate, sexy romance, emotion and lots of fun, I really enjoyed this one.
Gage is a member of the Reaper’s MC. He is away from his town and his club, working undercover as a man named Cooper to infiltrate and investigate a club that is not playing by the Reaper’s rules. He rents an apartment at a local boarding house, and that’s how he meets Tinker Garret.
Tinker has moved back to her small home town after a devastating loss. She’s in the middle of a divorce and is caring for her ailing father while running the family inn and her own catering business. She’s in desperate need of a handyman, and when Cooper waltzes into her store all sweaty and gorgeous, she offers him the job.
From the first moment they meet there is lust in the air. Their attraction literally sizzles of the pages, and while Tinker is more than happy to go there, Gage’s undercover persona has him tied up with another girl – a nasty piece of work with links to the club he’s investigating, but as his only ‘in’ with the club, he needs to maintain his ‘relationship’ with her. But he wants Tinker in a way he’s never wanted any woman before. He’s a manwhore, and will do anything for his club, but for the first time in his life, he is feeling more for a woman, and his loyalty to his Club is keeping him from the one thing he truly wants.
Any other time, any other place, she’d be under me already, but I knew my job.
Reapers forever, forever Reapers.
Sometimes loyalty sucks.
Tinker feels the same, and spends her free time (not so) secretly watching her super-hot tenant, and wishing that things could be different. It’s a messed up situation, but it makes for some sensational sexual tension, and OMG, I could feel every sizzling moment of it!
She wanted me as much as I wanted her. And yeah, I realize that makes me sound like an egotistical ass, but this wasn’t my first rodeo. I saw the lust in her eyes, and the way she licked her lips and stared at my mouth. This wasn’t a one-way street, not even close.
It’s a fantastic build up for them, and while they’re trying their best to keep their sexual/romantic distance, they get to know each other, which gets real feelings involved. But how long can Gage/Cooper manage his dual life, how will Tinker cope when his secret is finally revealed, and will he even care?
“Who are you?” I asked, the hard pressure between my legs sending waves of need and desire through me. But I wasn’t some little girl to be manipulated by lust.
“Told you – my name is Gage. I’m with the Reaper’s motorcycle club, and I’ll be the man fucking you from now on.”
Lol! Yes, Gage is a total alpha. He wants his woman, and as soon as he has his opportunity he’s not going to let anybody or anything stand in his way. It’s very caveman, but it’s totally freaking hot.
“A lot’s gone down, but right now the critical information is that you belong to me,” I told her, my voice rough. “You’re my property. You don’t understand what that means, and that’s okay. I’ll teach you. But when you look back at this moment, I want you to remember there was a before I claimed you and an after. Now it’s after. You got me?”
But as awesome as Gage is, Tinker is just as amazing. It always surprises me when I love a heroine as much as I do a hero in a book, and Tinker totally took me by surprise. She’s a strong, sassy, smart and funny woman and I have a total girl-crush on her.
The book is written in dual POV, and I love that we knew where they were both at with what is developing between them, and I love both of their voices. Both strong and stubborn, Gage and Tinker’s road to a HEA is not an easy one, with the perils of life in an MC and Gage’s commitment to his club only part of what they need to deal with. And though they have their ups and downs, they don’t hide what they’re feeling and their clashes are passionate, intense and hilariously honest.
“It’s not like we’re a couple.”
“My dick was inside you three hours ago,” he replied, eyes narrowing. “I don’t know what that makes us, but it’s fair to say we’ve moved past landlord and tenant.”
With Gage’s mission a big part of the story, there’s a lot going on with the Club. I really enjoyed this part of the book, and it’s tied in really well with everything that is developing between Gage and Tinker, as well as what is going on in her life – she’s been through a lot, and I though her story was a great balance to everything else happening in the book, with lots of emotion and laugh out loud moments with her hilarious girlfriends. The story is fast paced with some great twists and turns, and it kept me interested the whole way through.
The rest of the Reapers make an appearance, and I loved catching up with them. I especially loved the friendship between Gage and his Prez, and though Picnic was fantastic!
“You’ve been watching Sons of Anarchy, haven’t you?” Pic asked, sighing heavily. Cody swallowed, then nodded. “Fucking show. Whole damned world thinks they’re Jax Teller.”
I loved this book! It’s a great mix of gritty MC drama, sexy, passionate romance, laugh-out-loud moments and lots of emotion. I would have like a little bit more romance, but what was there totally suited the characters. For me, this one was a total winner.
4 stars.

“I can’t believe how late it is,” Tinker said, yawning, and I realized the movie had ended. Now she stretched upward, the blanket falling to her waist as her boobs pushed forward.
God, how much should a man be expected to take?
I should’ve stayed away from her completely—that’d been the plan—but something had snapped when I’d seen her out in the courtyard. Couldn’t remember the last time I’d met a woman like Tinker. She was smart and sexy and funny, and she worked damned hard to take care of her family and business. Sure, I wanted to fuck her—you’d have to be gay not to—but I respected her, too.
“I should probably get going,” she said, offering me a smile so sweet I wanted to bite her lips. “I like to check on Dad before going to sleep, and I’ve got to be up early in the morning. I’ve got to package orders for the courier tomorrow—if they aren’t ready by two p.m., I’m screwed.”
I considered rolling over on top of her. Pushing her down into the couch cushions, shoving my leg between hers, and showing her what a real man feels like.
“Cooper?” she asked, looking confused. I blinked a couple times, forcing myself to focus on her face.
“I’m going to watch another one,” I told her, because I’m a goddamn masochist. “You sure you’re ready to head out?”
She frowned, and I could almost read her thoughts. Yes, she should leave. But she wanted me as much as I wanted her. And yeah, I realize that makes me sound like an egotistical ass, but this wasn’t my first rodeo. I saw the lust in her eyes, and the way she licked her lips and stared at my mouth. This wasn’t a one-way street, not even close.
“I guess I could stay a little longer,” she whispered. Christ, she was so sweet and soft. I wanted to bite her even more now. Suck that pouty lower lip into my mouth and shove a finger up her ass.
Break her.
You’re one sick fuck.
Why yes. Yes, I am. Thanks for noticing.
I managed to control the urge, catching her hand instead, giving it a friendly squeeze like some kind of pathetic tool. Her fingers tightened on mine, then she pulled away and snuggled back down under the blanket, raising her feet to rest on the coffee table. I grabbed the remote and clicked through the menu.
Tomorrow I’d do my job. I’d fuck Talia and spy on Marsh and look for any kind of weakness that might end this situation, the faster the better. Tonight, though . . . Tonight I’d pretend this wasn’t a waste of time.
Goddamn, but my dick hurt.
The next hour was torture.
Tinker sat next to me, all cute and classy and absolutely refusing to make any kind of eye contact. I don’t know how she felt, but to me the sexual tension hanging in the air was thick and heavy. I kept thinking about her hand in mine—small, but strong. The hand of someone who knew how to work hard. So far as I knew, Talia had never held down a job, let alone supported herself.
The couch shifted, and I glanced over to find Tinker sliding deeper into the cushions, drawing the blanket up to her chin. Our legs were maybe six inches apart. She shifted again, and then her hand bumped mine under the blanket. She jerked it back quickly, and I caught the hint of a flush on her cheeks. That was another thing I liked about her—her skin was so pale that I could see every hint of arousal.
Grabbing her hand, I pulled it over to rest on my thigh. This was a really bad idea, so I pointedly refused to think it through. Her hand tensed at first, then relaxed into my strength. My cock swelled against the fabric of my jeans, just inches from her fingers—it’d be so easy to push her hand toward it, wrap it around my painfully swollen dick, and just go to town.
Tinker’s fingers gave a quick squeeze—almost more of a spasm—and I bit back a groan.
Yeah, okay. Really, really bad idea. I should get off the couch and shut this shit down right now, because I couldn’t afford to blow things with Talia just yet. Instead I found myself leaning toward Tinker, bumping shoulders.
God.
I’d grown a pussy. No other explanation, because I couldn’t figure out why the hell else an adult man would sit holding hands under a damned blanket like a kid.
