4 stars!
Maybe Not is a fantastic little novella that was a great addition to Maybe Someday. It’s sweet, sexy and a whole lot of fun.
Warren shares an apartment with Ridge and Brennan. One day he walks in on host new roommate. It seems this new roommate is a girl and she is hot. Immediately they rub each other the wrong way and the sexual tension skyrockets. On the outside it seems like Bridgette and Warren can’t stand each other but on the inside a fire is brewing and a spark is all that’s needed for them to burst into flames. And when they finally combust, it is smokin’! The banter is fantastic, the push and pull is epic both in and out of the bedroom, and the chemistry is hot!
Warren was a fantastic character. I loved that we got to see who he truly was as a person and not just what we learned about him from Maybe Someday. His train of thought was hilarious and he had me laughing-out-loud on numerous occasions. I also loved Warrens ability to read situations and that he was always there to support Bridgette when she needed it most. He was so much more than I thought he would be.
“I don’t want her,” I sign. “But I feel like I need her. So bad. She’s so…” I pause my hands for a few seconds before continuing. “She’s the best worst thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Bridgette is a broken, closed off, gorgeous girl who had a devastating childhood that shaped the way she is. My heart hurt for her and I understood her emotions. I loved seeing her slowly open up to Warren and that their connection was more than just physical in nature. They were hilarious together and I enjoyed every interaction.
“God, you’re such a bitch.”
She laughs again. “I know. A bitch who finally met the right asshole.”
A great little companion novella, I loved that we saw glimpses into some of the Maybe Someday scenes looking in from the outside. I can’t believe I waited so long to read Maybe Not.
She’s nothing I’ve ever wanted in a girl. And absolutely everything I need.
