Review
“Love is such a wild and reckless creature. It cannot be planned or threaded. It cannot be controlled. Love can coexist with Fate, or it can undo it. Love is the only thing more powerful than Fate.”
Aaaaahhh, is there anything better than a novella to give us more insight into a favourite series? Oh yes! A novella from the hero’s POV. SQUEEEEEE!! Yes, that’s right, it’s Aiden time, baby!!!
This was a great little read that relieved me of my tension after the cliffhanger that ended Deity. I now know what happened to Alex…
And OMG was it heartbreaking to read. One scene in particular was brutal. I may or may not have even rocked back and forth while reading chanting ‘oh my God, oh my God’.
But through it all, Aiden and his love for Alex absolutely shone through.
“Please come back to me, Alex. Please. I love you too much to lose you.”
He was so shattered by what she was going through, and yet he never gave up hope. His absolutely focussed determination to protect her and help her was just amazing. And with his small gang along to help – Marcus, Deacon (love him), Luke, Lea, Solos and Apollo (love him too), he doesn’t hide his love for Alex, which is absolutely forbidden in their world. He is there for her 100% and he shows that he’s going to do whatever it takes to save his girl.
“It’s love – the real kind you make sacrifices for. The kind where you scream ‘screw it’ to everyone else.”
God, could this man be any more perfect???
For Alex, and the world in general, the stage is being set for the battle to come, and I’m even more excited for the next instalment now. April cannot come quick enough!
