Review
“I love you. Fiercely. Possessively. Crazily. Always.”
4 stars
The conclusion to The Outskirts duet is a twisty, emotional swoonfest. Definitely not a standalone, this book picks up the story immediately from the end of the last one, with Finn and Sawyer dealing with the big reveals from the end of the first book, and fighting to protect the future that they so desperately want together.
In order to avoid spoilers I won’t go into detail, but after finding safety, a long-awaited home and an unexpected, all-consuming love in the town of Outskirts, Sawyer’s life has been turned upside down by revelations from the past. And when danger lurks once again, she is faced with the choice of running to safety again, or staying to fight her demons once and for all.
“I won’t have it all taken away from me. Not when I just found this place. Not when I just found you.”
It’s no surprise what choice she makes, and by her side is Finn. Gorgeous, damaged, broody, reborn-by-love, Finn, whose love for his girl left me absolute swooning as he stands by her side through all of the turmoil.
“You have me. Don’t you know by now that I’d do anything for you? When the world gets heavy on your shoulders I’ll carry the weight for you. I’ll be there. I’m not going anywhere. Not now Not ever.”
I loved Sawyer’s journey in the first book, and this book continues that as we get to see her further let go of the once-lost girl that she was and embrace who she is now, finding her feet and fighting for what she wants She still has a lot to learn and she’s figuring it all out, and I loved that she opens herself up and takes it all in, and never is that more evident than watching the further development of her relationship with Finn.
“What we do? Me and you? I asked, pointing between us. “It’s not shameful. The way we make each other feel? It’s fucking beautiful. The most fucking beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced. Don’t ever feel ashamed to tell me what you want. To ask me for it. I love that you want me, Say. Now tell me to fuck you.”
Oh hell yes, there is lots of hotness to be had! Finn is a dirty talker with the moves to back up his filthy words, and the sexy time is seriously hot, and a wonderful reflection of the emotion and intensity of the love story.
“You want religion?” Finn pushed back a lock of my hair. “Then I’ll get on my knees and worship you for the rest of my life. You want to save someone? You’ve already done it. You saved me. You want heaven?” His hand skated up the back of my skirt. I shivered. His deep voice hummed in my ear. “I’ll take you there right now.”
Phew! *fans face*
I like the direction that the story took. There are some surprises along the way, and one storyline in particular really pulled at my heartstrings, and I love that we got to explore that in such beautiful, heartwrenching detail. Other parts of the book were more predictable, and it didn’t really have the level of intensity or excitement that I was hoping for, but I like the way it all played out, and I loved how the strong focus on the love story was maintained throughout. Oh, and a quick shout out to Josh and Miller, who brought some laughs and provided some very welcome comedic relief in the midst of all of the turmoil.
This is a great finish for Finn and Sawyer’s story, with all loose ends tied up and the book providing a wonderful sense of closure for two people who so desperately deserve their happy ending.
4 stars.

Excerpt
My eyes went to her throat. I saw her pulse quicken beneath her smooth skin. She twisted her pouty pink lips. Her hesitation only lasted a second before she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me down closer so that the tips of our noses touched. Her lips feathered against mine. “Fuck me, Finn”.
“Yes,” I growled.
I may have been the one who told her to say those words but hearing them out of her mouth caused the raging inferno of lust within me to explode beyond control. I had a feeling I’d be hearing those words on repeat in my head for the rest of my life.
Fuck me, Finn.
I lifted her up onto the nearest table and pushed her onto her back. I tore her panties off in one tug and while I devoured her with my eyes, I somehow managed to
concentrate enough to unbuckle my belt and push my jeans down over my ass, freeing my throbbing cock.
Sawyer moaned when I parted her legs, stepping between them. The sound was pure fucking heaven. Our tongues danced while we drank each other in. I savored the way her body felt against mine. Hard against soft. I dug my fingers into the flesh of her perfectly round ass before moving them to her pussy where I parted her warm wet folds and strummed her swollen clit because Sawyer was my instrument of choice and only I knew how to play her to perfection.
The look on Sawyer’s face when I inserted a finger inside of her was as if I’d just given her a drug. She was high on the pleasure. Her lids were heavy. Her pupils large and dark. I was dead set on making sure I wrung every bit of pleasure from her gorgeous body and I gave her exactly what she’d asked me for.
