Blurb
From New York Times bestselling author, Corinne Michaels, comes a new heartwarming standalone romance.
I’m getting really good at cutting my losses.
First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can’t catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I’m determined to succeed.
That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time . . . practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.
I’m ready to forget the awkward night, yet Noah has no intention of allowing me to move on. Instead, he arranges for me to write a feature on him, ensuring a lot more time together. One embarrassing moment after another, one kiss after another, and before I can stop myself, I realize—I’m falling in love with him.
But when the unthinkable happens, can I even blame him for cutting his losses?
What I wouldn’t give for just one last time . . .

4.5 sweet, sexy and swoony stars!
I loved this book! Sexy, sweet and swoony, it’s a gorgeous story about a strong but beaten-down single mother reclaiming her life, and introducing my newest book boyfriend, Noah Frazier – a to-die-for celebrity hero. It’s an absolutely beautiful love story, and I devoured it in one sitting!
A note before beginning – this book ties in with We Own Tonight (Kristin is one of a group of four best friends, one of which is Heather from We Own Tonight) though this book can absolutely be read as a standalone, just be aware that those links exist, and that this book contains spoilers for the earlier one.
Kristin McGee’s world changes when her long-term marriage ends. It’s unexpected and heartbreaking, but it’s also much needed. She hasn’t been happy for a long time, and she recognises that her husband’s emotional abuse has had a profound impact on her, destroying her self esteem and changing her from the funny, fun-loving woman she used to be. And his actions during their separation and leading up to their divorce prove that she is much better off as she learns the full extent of his assholery. So now she’s on her own with her two precious children, and she takes a job as a celebrity journalist working for a gossip blog. It’s not the most prestigious job, but it fits in with her family responsibilities, and the fact that she has an ‘in’ with the celebrity world helps as her best friend is married to a hot pop star / actor. And it’s that connection that gets her her first job, interviewing hot Hollywood actor, Noah Frazier.
Noah is good friends with Eli from We Own Tonight. He’s in Florida visiting for a few days, but when he gets his first glimpse of Kristin, he’s hooked. One hilariously drunken night later, and he’s completely smitten. He knows she’s had a bad experience with love, and that she’s going through a rough time but that doesn’t stop him from going after her – gently and respectfully of course, but with an edge of playful flirtiness – and I honestly could not stop smiling every time he was on the page.
“Don’t be anyone else but who you are, Kristen. There’s nothing sexier than a woman who’s confident. Trust me.”
She clears her throat, and I watch the walls go up. “Ready to eat?”
I’ll let her win this one, but the game is far from over. “Sure.”
Oh my God, let us take a moment to bask in the awesomeness that is this man because he is pure romance hero perfection! Seriously, he is right up there with Liam Dempsey (from the Consolation Duet) for me! Gorgeous, sweet, funny, confident without being cocky, honest, open, and with the biggest heart, I was both melting and fanning myself throughout the book. Seriously, this man is everything. Every woman on earth wants to be wooed and pursued like this!
“I should walk out and let both our lives be a hell of a lot less complicated than trying to start something, but here I am. You’re worth complicating things.”
“I’m going to win your heart, Kristin. Be ready.”
Gah! I can’t even!
His pursuit of Kristin is determined but measured. He knows what she’s been through, and while he wants to take it easy, he can’t stay away, and it makes for romance reader heaven.
“All I’m asking for is for us to spend the next few weeks figuring it out. If you fall in love with me, that’s on you. The possibility is real.” He grins. “My money says you’ll want to keep me.”
Kristin is understandably scared, but Noah’s persistence, his open-hearted declarations and sincerity quickly win her over, as does his easy manner with her kids, and they soon find themselves falling hard for each other. It’s sweet, sizzlingly sexy and beautifully emotional, and I was easily swept up in all of the swoony perfection of these two together.
“You’re in control,” he tells me as his lips ghost over mine. “Take what you want, sweetheart. I’ll give you as much or as little as you say.”
“What if it’s not what you want?” I whisper, hoping he maybe doesn’t hear.
Noah shifts back enough to look me in the eyes. “I want you, Kristin.”
But when secrets are revealed and trust is threatened, it will put everything they have found together to the test. And with all that stands between them, even with the strength of their feelings, can they find a way to make it work?
“I know without a doubt that I couldn’t have walked away … I know you’re scared, sweetheart, but a life without risk isn’t one worth living.”
I loved this book. Obviously, the love story was fantastic, but I also loved the story of Kristin coming into her own after the end of her marriage, the scenes where she stood up for herself had me cheering. I loved seeing the unwavering friendship between Kristin and her girls, and I loved the inclusion of her kids. Finn and Aubrey are adorable and realistic, bringing a lot to the story, especially seeing how openly Noah is accepted into their world. It all works together to create a wonderfully in-depth story that I couldn’t put down.
Fans of Corinne’s will be thrilled with a surprising cameo from two of her earlier characters, and that was a nice little treat. And the epilogue and bonus scene finish everything off beautifully.
This is a great read. A beautiful, heartfelt love story that made me laugh, swoon and fall in love, and I finished it with a huge smile on my face.
I loved it – 4.5 stars!

Excerpt
Before I can make a move either way, the glass door slides open and Noah walks through the threshold.
My legs start to quiver as his eyes meet mine. All I can think about is how I’d like to climb him like a tree and shake his coconuts. I thought he was hot in the photo, then he was better through the window, but up close, he’s otherworldly.
“Hi.” Noah’s throaty voice floats around me. “You must be Kristin.”
Instead of speaking, I stand here with my mouth hanging open. Some small sounds that could be words escape, but they aren’t coherent.
Kill me now.
“Noah, this is my best friend, Kristin. Who we told you about.” Heather elbows me.
“Yes. Me. Hi. Kristin. I. You. Hi.”
Smooth. Someone should video this because I’m sure it’s highly entertaining.
“Right.” Noah flashes a blinding smile. “I hear you’re a reporter?”
Okay, Kristin, you have to speak in more than one-word increments or grunting noises. I grab Heather’s glass she just poured and hope it’ll act as a talisman. “Yes, for a small blog, but I’m that. A reporter. For a blog. I write.”
And a bumbling idiot.
Noah’s green eyes are filled with humor. He moves a little closer and places his hand on top of mine.
“Eli filled me in a little. I’m happy I came.”
I’m pretty sure I just came. At least we’re all coming.
“Me, too.”
His lips turn up as his eyes rake my body. “See you out there.” He winks and walks back out.
My ovaries have officially disintegrated.
I turn back to Heather, who bursts out into a fit of laughter. “Oh, that was epic. You all said I was starstruck when I met Eli? You should’ve seen that!” Heather continues to laugh at my expense. “Yes. Me. Um. Blog. Er—” She mocks.
“Shut up.” I laugh—because, really, what else can I do—and bump her hip before moving around the bar and grabbing a glass. “Now, pour me a shot before I drink straight from the bottle.”
There’s only one way to get through tonight.
Alcohol.
Lots of Alcohol.
