Melanie Harlow’s Only You delivers another sweet, swoony, steamy story full of humor and heart. Entertaining and emotional with a unique take on the single dad trope, it was captivating from the first page and I could not put it down.

Emme has been burned by men and her most recent breakup has hit harder than before. When an invitation to her ex-boyfriend and ex-assistant’s wedding arrives, she goes a little crazy. She never imagined that a little fire and the RSVP card could do so much damage, and when it goes up in flames her sexy neighbor, Nate, comes to the rescue.

Nate and Emme have been neighbors for years. They have a fun friendship and have never crossed the line. She falls in love too easily and he doesn’t believe in it in the first place so they don’t want to screw up their friendship. When a surprise ends up rocking Nate’s world, Emme is there for him. As they grow closer, its more apparent than ever that they want different things even though feelings are strengthening. Will Emme suffer another broken heart or finally find her HEA with Nate by her side?

This book is a breath of fresh air and I loved it! A wonderful friends-to-lovers romance with a swoony hero and lovable heroine, it had just the right mix of sweet and sexy, funny and serious, and everything in between. I was immediately sucked into the story and quickly became invested in Emme and Nate’s lives, desperate for their happily ever after.

Emme is such a lovely character who instantly put a smile on my face. Despite the fact that she hasn’t found “the one”, she still believes in love. I loved her optimism and her big heart. When she loves, she loves with everything she is. She is relatable and realistic, and I loved watching her mature when it came to relationships.

Nate is so much more complicated than I could have imagined. The past that shaped him was heartbreaking and his ideas about relationships were understandable. As a bachelor, he is fun, sexy, and confident, knowing exactly what he wants from life and women. But Nate as a father…SWOON!! He became more awesome with every second he spent with his daughter.

Nate had a lot to learn and his honest and overwhelming fears and insecurities made him real. I loved watching his character grow as he realized the important things in his life.

Emme and Nate, so different yet so perfect for each other. They have great chemistry, their attraction is believable, and the sexual tension drips off the pages. Their friendship is natural and I enjoyed watching it grow and become more as they spend a significant time together. The banter is sensational and the emotion is intense as they learn to trust, open up, and accept each other’s imperfections.

Their journey to a happily ever after isn’t without heartache, and though it was not overly angsty, it still had me on edge waiting for the blow up. I understood where both characters were coming from but it was no less heartbreaking when everything goes wrong. Thankfully even though it was emotional, it didn’t destroy me. I turned the last page with a huge smile on my face and love in my heart.

Only You is such a sweet friends-to-lovers story and I can’t wait for more. Only Him featuring Emme’s younger, free spirited sister, Maren is releasing June 2018 and I hope Emme’s older sister, Stella, also gets a book.

*On a side note, fans of Harlow’s Frenched series will be excited to see Mia & Lucas and Nick & Coco again in Only You as good friends of Emme.
