“The end of the old is here, and the beginning of the new has been ushered in.

4.5 stars!

Wow, Jennifer L. Armentrout knows how to finish off a series, and she’s done a great job with this book. Seth and Josie’s story comes to its exciting, heartwrenching and satisfying conclusion in a read that had me glued to my kindle and my heart pounding. I laughed and cried, and OMG did I swoon, and I loved it!

Picking up where the last book left off, we find Seth and Josie together, in love, and planning their future. They have both come so far, and I was thrilled to be thrown back into their loved-up, blissed-out, highly passionate relationship as they continue to go from strength to strength, loving and supporting each other unquestionably, while never losing that sense of fun and the great banter that is so them.

From day one, she had my back and saw me for more than who I had been, but for who I was…and who I was becoming. Sounded cheesy as hell, but it was true. She was why I was able to start moving on, and she was why I was becoming a better man.j
But I was still an asshole on most days.

The couple, along with the rest of the ‘Army of Awesome’ have gathered together and are preparing to take on the Titans. They are still tracking down the remaining demi-gods so that they can unlock their powers and entomb the bad guys once and for all, but they don’t have their full team assembled yet. And as all hell begins to break lose and the Olympians making their appearance, Seth is about to learn that there are heartbreaking consequences to his actions and the mission is about to take a turn as the battle against the Titans looms closer.

There could only be one reason why Zeus was here.
He wanted to throw down.
The moment Aiden realized who was standing before him, he dropped to one knee and bowed his head.
I, however, did not move, because fuck that shit.

This is such a great read, and as much as I love these characters, it is Seth that makes these books as entertaining as they are. With his sarcasm, wit and irreverence, he had me laughing out loud so many times. But he also feels very deeply, and I love that we got to explore that side of him, and never more so than in his love for his Josie. This is a man consumed by his feelings for the girl he loves – passionate, protective and adorably sweet, and I was in a world of swoon while reading.

“What I feel for you increases every waking moment and sometimes that scares the hell out of me but I love you. Yesterday. Today. A thousand tomorrows from now, I will be in love with you.”

But with time running out, Seth and Josie must fight for the future that they so desperately want. And when the time comes, what will they be willing to sacrifice for it?

OMG, my poor heart was put through the wringer with this book. The story twists and turns, and the character development for Seth and Josie is fantastic as they are put to the test in ways they never have been before. They have both come so far, and they are incredibly strong on their own, but together they are absolute magic and I loved watching it all unfold. And as the tension builds, it makes for a really exciting read, full of the humour that I so love about JLA’s writing.

Just to make it even better, Alex and Aiden are along for the right, as are Deacon and Luke, who always bring a lot of fun to the story, which in this case was absolutely needed. As well as some of the newer characters we’ve met along the way.

The action wasn’t as prominent as I was expecting, but it was definitely there, and the story wraps up really well with everything finished off nicely.

I loved this book. I’ve said it before that JLA is the queen of YA/NA PNR, and series like this is exactly why. She’s given us a great story with strong world building, a great bunch of characters, a strong heroine, an unlikely hero that you cannot help but love and a romance that is both seriously hot and incredibly heartfelt. It’s a total win.

4.5 stars.
