5 angst-filled stars!!

For that second he had been hers once more. She didn’t know if she could ever come to terms with knowing he never would be again.

Fast-paced, thrilling, suspenseful, and addictive, Blood Match is unputdownable. Once again we are thrown back into the lives of Beckham and Reyna and it is as intense as ever. Picking up nearly two months after the cliffhanger from Blood Type, Reyna isn’t in the best place physically or emotionally. She is living a nightmare and thoughts of Beckham are the other things getting her through the horror she is forced to experience. But when she finally escapes the hell she is in, nothing is the same, most of all Beckham.

“I am not the hero you have constructed in your story, Little One. I am the villain.”

These multi-dimensional characters are so much more than meets the eye. Reyna’s horrific experience changes her. With realistic emotions, fear and regret consume her but she is strong. So strong. Gone is the innocent girl and in her place stands a brave, kickass woman. She doesn’t give up and I loved her steely determination to face things head on. She refuses to back down even when trouble seems to find her.

Becks is everything. Sweet, sexy, and oh, so swoony, I could not get enough of him. He has so many layers and as the story unfolds and we learn more about his past and why he is the way he is. It’s broke my heart learning about what he went through but he doesn’t let his past weaken him. Rather it makes him stronger and more powerful, his dominance and control a total turn on. He loves Reyna with everything he is and he will do anything to keep her safe.

Reyna and Beckham face several rough patches as they try get back to the place they were before everything went to shit and it tore me up inside. However, when they are finally able to be together, they go all in and it loved it! Beckham and Reyna are the perfect match for each other. They have this intense connection that you can feel is real and their love is passionate and all-consuming. They trust each other and fully accept every part of one another no matter their past.

This book has given me so much more than the previous one but still not nearly enough. The anticipation of what’s to come will consume you and make it impossible to stop reading. The villains are more ruthless than I could have imagined and there are new allies who seem to pop out of thin air. The surprising twists and turns are jaw-dropping and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. It’s full of angst that won’t just quicken your pulse, it will rip your heart from your chest.

And OMG the end! Holy freaking cliffhanger!!! I thought the one in the first book was bad but it has nothing on this one. I can’t take it. I am in shock and desperate for Blood Cure! August 21st can’t come soon enough!

She has a Masters degree in political science from the University of Georgia, was the head campaign worker for the 2012 presidential campaign at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and served as the head coach of the Duke University dance team. She loves reading fantasy novels, geeking out over Star Wars, binge-watching Supernatural, and dancing in her spare time.
