“I want to love all of my life as much as I love this night.”

4.5 fun, romantic and sexy stars

I love this book! Sweet, funny, romantic and oh-so-hot, with a kickass heroine and my brand new (French!) book boyfriend, Ansel Guillaume. It’s a fun read with lots of heart, and I devoured it from start to finish.

Mia and her two best friends have just graduated from College. Celebrating with a weekend in Vegas before embarking on a future she’s not sure she wants, Mia is swept away by a hot French guy that she meets in a bar. Ansel is also travelling with friends, and the two of them keep running in to each other. Of course they are attracted to each other, but there’s also a connection there from the very beginning – they share easy conversation, and the usually socially awkward Mia feels comfortable with him in a way that is rare, but also kind of incredible.

And then, one hot, wild night in Vegas ends up with Mia all sexed up, with a raging hangover, sore in all sorts of places, but with no memory of what took place.

I brush my teeth with a weak arm and shaking hand while giving my reflection the dirtiest look I can manage. I look like shit, have about seventeen hickeys on my neck and chest and, I’ll be honest, from the looks of my mouth, I sucked dick for a long time last night.

In the bright light of day, Ansel is just as charming as he was the night before. It turns out that she opened up to him last night in a way she’s never done with anybody else, and the connection between them has deepened even further. And when he invites Mia to jump out of her comfort zone and return to France with him for the summer, she decides to take the chance.

“Maybe you just need to hit pause, and breathe.”

It’s an absolutely fantastic set up, but with their wild hook up behind them, things back in the ‘real world’ are not what either of them expected. Things are a bit awkward between them, and with Ansel working long hours and Mia spending most of her time sightseeing on her own, a distance starts to come between them. But their attraction to each other still sizzles, and they find a way to start opening up to each other. A little strange perhaps –

Spoiler
the only way they can relax around each other is to role play, pretending to be somebody else. Initially, I was really sceptical of this, thinking that it was a weird way for them to become comfortable with each other –
– but it works for them, and it forms a good ‘first step’ for them to get to know each other better, become comfortable with each other and move seamlessly into something real and meaningful.

And oh my Lordy, it’s hot! There is SO much sex in this book! Both Mia and Ansel are a little dirty, and their sexy time is absolutely sizzling. But as intense as it is, they have a lot of fun with it, and they play and laugh a lot together, which is really special. And their feelings for each other build beautifully as the story goes on.

“I’m lost in you.”
I gasp, nodding frantically. “Me too.”

Mia’s summer of freedom becomes something ultimately life changing for both of them as she and Ansel fall for each other in a way neither of them expected. But with her time in Paris coming to an end, and real life intruding into their bliss, how will they make their happy ever after work?

“What you feel, Cerise? I feel it too. Fuck, Mia. I feel everything for you.”

I love these characters! They are amazing together, and I couldn’t get enough of each little moment between them. I also really loved Mia’s development throughout the story. She moves from being a shy people-pleaser with no idea what she wants from her future, to truly finding herself, realising what her dream is and finding the strength to chase after it. And Ansel is a big part of that. His love for Mia is evident all the way through the book, he is able to draw her out in a way that nobody else can, and the way he is with her – sweet, caring, fun and passionate – absolutely melted my heart. They have such a great time together, and I love that so many of those fun little aspects of their relationship are included in the story. I particularly loved Ansel’s French lessons when he left notes and translations for Mia to learn…

What time is it? …
What time do you close? …
Take your clothes off, please…
Fuck me. Harder…
I need the large dildo, same size as my husband…
That was the best orgasm of my life…
I’m going to come in your mouth, you beautiful girl…

Adding to the fun is their fantastic group of friends. Mia’s girls and Ansel’s boys are wholly supportive of their friends, and they are freaking hilarious. They are the characters that will make up the rest of the series, with their stories already nicely set up, and I cannot wait to continue on!

Once again Christina Lauren have given us a highly enjoyable, fun and sexy story with great characters, lots of laughs and a beautiful, heart-warming romance.

I loved it – 4.5 stars.
