“I don’t know why I fought you for so long.”

4 metrosexual stars!

The second book in the Man Hands series, I dove right into this one after finishing Man Hands, because I honestly could not get enough of this fantastically fun and hilarious collaboration!

Man Card brings us the story of Ash and Braht (as in bratwurst, because the man is hung! Lol), both introduced in the first book as the respective best friends of Brynn and Tom. Ash and Braht have an explosive relationship – in that they hate each other, complicated by their mad lust for each other. In the last book we caught a glimpse of all of that lust exploding in a pantry of all places, and after years of bickering, that one encounter has changed everything.

Braht is madly in love with Brynn and has been for years, and now that he knows how combustible they are together, he’s all about making them permanent. But Brynn has been through a bad experience with men and isn’t interested in pursuing anything, especially with a professional competitor and dangerously sexy metrosexual who is all kinds of arrogant.

“I’m not like other men, Ash. I’m Man 2.0.”

OMG, Braht! He is so unlike most romance heroes, and wouldn’t usually be the kind of guy that I’d be attracted to in real life, but I couldn’t help but be drawn to him and his devastating and surprisingly hot metrosexual ways. He gets manicures and pedicures, he wears pastels and loafers, he has more product in his bathroom cupboards than Ash does, and he loves a good rom/com. And he owns it! He is confident, arrogant, intelligent and completely unapologetic about who he is, and he’s also a complete alpha with a filthy mouth. It’s a seriously fun combination, and hot damn!

“I need to say this. I want you, you understand. All of you. Right now. But you need to know this. Outside of here, I will hold your purse. I’ll get mani-pedis with you. I’ll cry while watching Lifetime movies with you. I will hand over my man card and be your minion everywhere you want, except in the bedroom. In here, I want you to surrender.”

He pursues Ash with single-minded determination, and when they are teamed up as co-realtors on the same property it puts them in direct competition with each other, working closely together and all up in each other’s business, building their sizzling sexual tension and making their attraction absolutely irresistible.

“I don’t like you very much,” she says in a small voice.
“You’ll like me better when I’ve tied you to the bed in your parents’ cottage.”
She makes a noise that’s half rage, half lust. Oh, I’ve got her number. I really do.
“I brought four neckties in preparation, Hermès, of course. Very silky.”

They have a fantastically fun dynamic and I loved watching their back and forth as they find their way forward together. Sexually, they are on fire, but there’s a whole heap of other things they need to sort through, and they handle it well, in a way that adds to the story rather than irritating the reader, and I had so much fun as it all played out.

Braht is pretty much good at everything. And I mean everything. I’m worried I might be falling for the fashionable fucker. Fuck.

Their best friends are a big part of their unfolding romance, and I loved meeting Braht’s awesome brother, Bramley, catching up with Tom and Brynn, and Sadie’s story next is sure to be a good one!

I listened to this one as an audiobook, again narrated by Erin Mallon and Luke Daniels who do a sensational job – especially Luke, who makes Braht a believably masculine metrosexual. This is a really fun read with a heartfelt, sexy romance, and I loved it!

4 stars.
