Blurb
Sawyer Landry is sexy, rugged, charming… and did I mention sexy? Back in college, we were best of friends – which meant I secretly hid an epic unrequited crush, while he dated every other girl on campus… and then told me all about it the morning after.
Now I’m back in Chicago for the first time in years, and Sawyer is determined to rekindle our friendship. I swore, I wouldn’t put my life (and heart) on hold for him again, but just one look at his handsome face and I know, he’s still the only man for me.
But this time, things are going to be different. No more sitting around, waiting for him to realize his dream woman is right in front of him. No, I’m going to make him see, I’m not just one of the guys anymore.
But can I really go from sidekick to soulmate? And will this playboy bachelor realize, true love is waiting – if he’d only take a chance?

4 stars!!
Gabi hasn’t seen her best friend, Sawyer, in the five years since she left Chicago. The pain of unrequited love was too much to bear and she escaped to Washington D.C. to work and get away from her feelings. Now that she is back in Chicago she would do anything to avoid Sawyer. Her plans go to the wayside though when she literally bumps into Sawyer. Sawyer is stunned to run into Gabi and she is not at all what he expected. He wants his friend back and wants answers about why she ghosted him but Gabi has other ideas.
I wasn’t the girl I used to be—rolling over and accepting there was nothing I could do to win his heart. I was older. Wiser. And I had a few seductive tricks up my sleeve. I went after what I wanted now, and I didn’t let old insecurities stand in my way. Because I wasn’t going to make the same mistakes I did last time. This time, I was going to make him mine.
I really enjoyed Soulmate. This friends-to-lovers romance is fun, flirty, and has a nice dose of sexy time to turn up the heat and heart to bring on the feels. It’s my favorite of the series so far!
Gabi and Sawyer have always been good together. When they run into each other again, they fall back into a comfortable friendship with easy banter and it’s almost too much for Gabi. The feelings once again consume her and she is right back where she was years earlier.
Being friends with him, when what I really wanted was to be with him, was like a wound that was never able to heal. Even now, just standing on the street corner with him, all those feelings came rushing back. The wound reopening.
The feelings are real and relatable and I saw exactly where she was coming from. Unrequited love is no joke and when Gabi finally decides to go for Sawyer, I excited to see what she was going to do to win him over.
I was going to make Sawyer see the woman right in front of him. I just had to get creative . . .
Sawyer cherished her friendship and he is more determined than ever to keep it just the same, and that means she is off limits. He is clueless and it was funny how everyone else could see what was going on.
The sexual tension skyrockets when Gabi tries everything to get Sawyer to notice her as more than just a friend. From sexy clothes and strip poker to making sure they were stranded together, she wasn’t taking no for an answer; and when they hook up, it is hot!! They can’t get enough of each other and but Sawyer doesn’t go all in right away. I wanted so badly for Sawyer to see what was right in front of him. It was frustrating and I wanted to scream at him numerous times but I understand the fear he had of losing his best friend.
There are some rough patches as Gabi and Sawyer navigate their new relationship and it’s full of the kind of hurt that breaks hearts. I’m glad it’s not drawn out too long though and when Sawyer finally knows exactly what he wants, it’s sweet and swoony.
Overall, I really enjoyed Soulmate! However, I can’t wait for the last book in the series. I have been eager to get my hands on Dante’s story, Troublemaker, to see what really went down between him and Haley, and I can’t wait for more of the Rascals!
