4.5 stars!

I was so excited to get my hands on this book, and wow, what a gorgeous read! A fun, sweet, functional and emotional love story between two single parents, it’s a gorgeous romance with all the feels, and I loved it!

This is the fourth and final book in the Dirty Deeds series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. It’s the story of broody and mysterious bar owner, Nate, and Jenna, the sister of Brian from book #1 (5-star fave, [book:Four Letter Word|28963772]). I honestly didn’t remember too much about Nate, and I can’t even recall if Jenna had been previously introduced, so you can easily dive into this on its own (though the earlier books are just fantastic, so definitely add them to your TBR if you haven’t read them yet).

Nate is a widower, and since the death of his wife he has buried himself in his bar/restaurant to the exclusion of everything else – including his two year old daughter. His parents have been caring for little Marley, and they figure that the best way to pull Nate out of his grief is to drop him in the deep end, and that’s exactly what they do when they deliver Marley to him. Completely lost and out of his depth, Nate has no clue what he’s doing, so when gorgeous, young single mother, Jenna comes along and offers to help him out, he jumps at the chance.

Jenna is the mother to eight-year-old twins. She is fairly new to town, having moved to be closer to her brother, and she has her life pretty much figured out, but she’s still looking for love. Her children were the result of a one night stand and she’s never experienced true love or even a real relationship, but she’s got a huge heart, and when she sees Nate struggling with his adorable little girl she can’t help but offer to help him out.

And so Jenna becomes a part of Nate’s life, caring for Marley and at the same time introducing Nate to parenthood and helping him form a bond with his little girl. She throws herself fully into the role of caring for the two of them, and is there for them without any hesitation, and naturally and quite unconsciously the five of them become a huge part of each other’s worlds. It’s so, so beautiful to see, and of course it’s only a matter of time before the Nate and Jenna’s attraction to each other starts to sizzle.

The feelings are there from the very beginning, growing deeper the more time they spend together, and the build-up is absolutely delicious! They don’t hide it, they don’t lie about it, they are completely open, and I could feel how much they cared for and wanted each other. It’s not straightforward, but it’s honest and functional (which I LOVED) and it’s only a matter of time before all of that chemistry explodes into epic feels!

Falling in love was overwhelmingly scary. It was also becoming the easiest thing I had ever done.

It’s fun, it’s flirty, and it’s so damn sweet. I love these two together so much, and I could feel the depth of their feelings for each other. And on top of all of that, it’s sooooo freaking sexy!

“Holy shit,” I gasped when I felt his mouth there. I looked down my body. Nathan was already watching me. He winked. God…I felt my heart skip. “You kill me, you know that?”
He gave me a long, slow lick in answer.

OMG, those winks! *fans self*

There were so many points during the story where unnecessary drama or angst could have been added, but I’m SO grateful that the author never took it there. Nate and Jenna are upfront and honest with each other, and though there is some drama they have things to work through – not only the fact that Jenna works for Nate, but he understandably has unresolved feelings over his deceased wife and is terrified of getting close to somebody again – but it’s beautifully done, with a lot of heart, and I loved watching their journey to their HEA.

A huge shout out to all of the kids, who are so freaking adorable. They each have their own little personalities which are really well developed, and watching them form relationships with each other, and with Nate and Jenna, is just gorgeous and such a special part of the book.

Nate and Jenna are fantastic characters, and I really felt for them – I celebrated with them, I hurt with them, and I fell in love right alongside them. They are just so gorgeous together! Add the kids into the mix, and there were so many sweet and tender moments between the five of them, this book had me smiling hugely all the way through.

A wonderful finish for a fantastic series. I loved it! 4.5 stars.
