One Time Only is a steamy, swoony, forbidden rock star romance that you’ll easily get lost in. Stone and Jackson are an awesome pair who give us the right amount of humor, heart, and heat, and I loved their love story.
Jackson has been Stone’s bodyguard for the last several months and he is on the top of his game when it comes to managing Stone’s safety. He just hasn’t been able to manage the feelings he has for the rock star and it gets harder and harder to resist Stone when he starts to think that Stone might feel the same way.
He is all my filthy, forbidden wishes.
A fiery kiss shows them how good they could be even as they fight the pull, and finally, they give into a night of passion to get it out of their systems. However, try as they may to keep it a “one time only” experience there was no way these two were ever going to be able to have only one night. They are just too good together!
Bring on the extinguishers because this book is on fire! Sizzling sexual tension surrounds Jackson and Stone as they try so hard to keep their attraction in check but it was on a matter of time before stolen glances and hot kisses make things so much more difficult. When they finally come together they are explosive.
All my rules, all my reasons have vacated the premises. They fell by the wayside the second I threw down my offer.
I don’t care about anything right now except this fevered, frenzied dream.
That’s all it can be, a sexy, filthy fantasy, but I’m living it in this moment.
There is so much more to them than their time in the bedroom, though. I loved that they had a true connection. Both bring on the swoon and they are real, sensitive, and vulnerable. Neither are looking for something serious but they have never felt the way they do before.
How do I give voice to this cyclone of emotions clawing through me? To all this newness?
I don’t know, so instead I kiss him the way I feel.
We kiss like fireworks, like an anthem, like lightning and thunder and summer rain.
I understand why they try to keep it light, however, add on the fact that they are awesome friends and get along so well while still being able to joke and have fun, they are perfect for each other. I believed in them as a couple and loved them together.
There is a bit of a forbidden element to the story and I liked how things played out. The progression from friends to lovers is well-paced and believable. The fears and reservations about moving forward are understandable, and though there’s a little bit of angst, it’s nothing to stress out over. Stone and Jackson don’t keep us waiting long for a happily-ever-after and I loved it!
*Note: Though you can read One Time Only without having read Maybe This Time first, I did enjoy getting a more complete backstory to Jackson and Stone’s history in the prequel novella and recommend reading it before you dive into One Time Only.
