Secrets and Lies…
I’ve lived the entirety of my life wrapped up in subterfuge for one purpose—revenge.
Through the years, I lived more as an enigma than a man.
For so long, I denied I had a beating heart of my own.
Until her. Until she unearthed the starving vessel inside, forced me to acknowledge it, forced me to understand that I’m capable of bleeding the same as any other.
For that, we paid. We’re still paying.
Yet, she demands it still, the useless heart of the ruthless thief and shameless villain she fell for. My fear is, I’m no longer that man.
With the lies I’ve told, the life I’ve led, my mistakes are beginning to catch up with me, day by day, one by one.
This is my last chance, and I have no intention of losing her again, but as the deception of my past starts to unravel and close in, shedding my humanity may be the only thing that can save us both.
Maybe it’s already too late.

4.5 stars
This is the book that we didn’t know we wanted. It started out as a bonus epilogue for the Ravenhood Duet, but turned into a full length, behemoth of a novel, and the final book in the Ravenhood Trilogy, and wow, it’s intense. Romantic, steamy, complex and suspenseful, it’s a fantastic finish to this amazing story, and I loved it.
I loved the first two Ravenhood books. I was absolutely captivated by the unique, complex and unpredictable story, and I was completely satisfied with how it ended. And then along comes this book, giving us more of everything, bringing more depth to the characters, their relationships, and their journeys, and providing complete closure for all of the different aspects of the story.
I can’t say anything about the story without spoiling the series, but this book picks up right after Exodus ended, showing us the ending that was only hinted at, allowing us to experience every intimate detail of these characters finding their HEA.
We also get to learn more about the past through flashbacks which show us Tobias’ history, and him growing up with Dominic, Sean and Tyler as they grow to become the men that we know them as. The flashbacks continue to cover key events from the first two books of the series, and I loved getting the alternative perspective which allows us to see all that went down between the boys during that time.
I was never alone, not once, and it’s so evident now. When one of us falters, when our wings fail us and we lose direction, there’s always another to coast us in.
This is such a complex story and such a complex world, and there were a lot of little details that I had forgotten. I did find myself a bit lost at the beginning as there is no rehash of previous events, so I had to stop and go back to reread the ending of Exodus before restarting this one. And then the further I got into this book, the more that came back to me, so make sure you’re fully in the zone before making a start on this one!
Is it necessary to read this book as part of the series? No. But fans will love the chance to dive back into this world, learn more about the characters and experience the absolutely epic love story as it plays out in all of its passionate, tumultuous and emotional glory.
My strongest temptation and undoing. The only woman capable of satiating me. My nemesis and equal, my torment and love.
Unraveling with her has never felt so fucking good.
OMG, I love this love story! It’s angsty in places, and it’s an emotional rollercoaster, but there is no doubting the intense connection between these two and their unshakable love for each other is truly beautiful to witness.
“No man on earth has ever loved a woman more than I love you.”
As with the previous books, Kate Stewart stunned me with the way she constructed this story. It’s not until the very end that you can look back and see just how complex the whole thing is, and can appreciate the skill she used in crafting it. The way she pieced it all together is so clever, never letting up on the emotional intensity, with a delicious thread of tension running from start to finish, and a jaw-dropping ending that is full of feels and had me tearing up as the characters find the closure that they so desperately deserve.
An amazing read from Kate Stewart. 4.5 stars.
