No promises. No expectations. No names. That’s what Emmett Stone agreed to with the woman who caught his eye two months ago. After years of drama following the end of the Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club, a no-strings fling with a mystery woman is exactly what he needs. Except as they find themselves together more and more, it’s impossible for him to keep his feelings at bay. She’s clever and sassy. She’s gracious and kind. She loves riding on the back of his bike every Saturday afternoon and lazing in his bed every Sunday morning. She’s the perfect woman.

Except she’s Nova Talbot, the daughter of his archenemy—the man who murdered his father.

Her identity will cost her the man who’s captured her heart unless she can convince Emmett her feelings are true.

Before he learns the reason she proposed their fling in the first place.

Review

“If you’re looking for your future over your shoulder, you’re turned the wrong way.”

5 stars!

Oh Devney Perry, you can do no wrong! What an absolutely amazing story. A story of family, friendship, revenge, forgiveness and redemption, with unforgettable characters and a stunningly emotional and passionate love story. I loved everything about this book, and it’s a fave for 2021.

This is the final book in the Tin Gypsy series, and is Emmett and Nova’s story. Emmett has been in the background of the last few books, and he absolutely shines in this one. Like his friends, he was a member of the now-disbanded Tin Gypsy MC, where his father was vice-President until he was tragically murdered by rival club, the Warriors. He is still best friends with his club buddies, who he considers family, and he still works at what was the Club’s garage. That’s pretty much his whole life, and even though he’s watched his friends all pair off and find their happy ever afters, he’s not interested in anything beyond casual hook-ups, and is content with his solitary life.

Nova is the daughter of the Warrior’s president – a man who has caused so much pain for Emmett and his friends, and who is now serving the rest of his life in prison. Nova has always looked up to her dad, and even though he was mostly absent from her life, she is determined to win his approval. She is fierce and determined, and though doesn’t know much about club life, except that the Tin Gypsies are responsible for the death of her younger brother and her father losing his freedom, and she wants vengeance.

Emmett and Nova meet at the local bar, and sparks immediately fly. Without sharing names, they have a wildly sexy encounter which gets repeated again, and again, and again. They agree to keep things strictly casual, neither of them looking for a relationship, and it’s a set-up that works well for both of them. Yet the longer they keep seeing each other, the more the connection between them develops, and before too long their casual hook-ups lead to rides on Emmett’s bike, overnight stays, lazy mornings cooking breakfast, and long talks snuggled up on Emmett’s back deck. It’s unexpected, but it’s natural and easy, and they soon realise that everything has changed.

What was wrong with me? It was only sex. This was just part of the plan. So why couldn’t I detach from him?
Every moment spent with Emmett was infuriating because he was so goddamn perfect. He was not who he should have been. He was not the monster I’d expected.

Emmett was so…
everything.

This is such a beautiful romance. I admit I was a little wary at how it was going to play out given Nova’s plans, but we learn so much about her as the story progresses, and I could understand how and why she got into the situation she did. And I could absolutely understand how she fell so hard for Emmett when she didn’t mean to, just as he fell for her, and I loved watching it happen.

“No good will come of me getting attached to you.”
“Too late.”
Her mouth parted on a gasp I couldn’t hear.
I leaned in closer, bending so that my nose was barely touching hers. “Too fucking late.”

These two have such amazing chemistry. The sex is seriously hot, insanely passionate, and there is plenty of it. They connect so beautifully both in and out of the bedroom, and as much as I loved seeing them come together, my heart ached at what I knew was coming.

How had that happened? How had he gone from the enemy to the one man I trusted?

I was expecting angst, and my heart was pounding as I neared the big moment, but rather than angst, it was emotion, and OMG, the feels! I had tears in my eyes as their truths are revealed, and I felt so damn much for both of them. Their situation was unfair from the beginning, and the twists and turns that unfold just add to the complication, and it was one of those situations where you can’t read fast enough, but you also reread sections just to take it all in because the emotion is that intense.

My name, my family, my motivation from the beginning had been a lie. But the moments together, our moments, those had been as real as anything in my life. The moments when we’d falling in love.
I did love him.
He loved me too.

Emmet and Nova are both wonderful characters. They’ve got so much pain in their past, and so much they have to work through, and the growth they show is just amazing. I love how these two individuals, both set on their paths, are completely blindsided by each other, and it changes everything for them. They have so much they have to overcome, and they keep moving forward – brave and honest, with their hearts in their hands – and I so admired their courage.

If there was a miracle to be had in my life, I wanted it to be him.

The rest of the Tin Gypsy crew all become involved, and I loved seeing them all again. I love how dearly loved Emmett is, and how they all unquestionably and unreservedly have his back. And the protectiveness they have over the big, strong biker is gorgeous.

At the crux of the drama in this series has been the MC, and the longstanding war with the Warriors. They all want it to end so that they and their families can finally live in peace, and Nova may be the key to making that happen. But for them to truly have a happy ending, she and Emmett will need to finally forgive the past and trust each other enough to have a future.

It’s such an emotional story with just the right amount of drama, and as much as I loved watching Emmett and Nova’s individual journeys, it was the love story that owned my heart, and OMG, it was stunning!

I hadn’t even known I was lost, yet here I was, found in Emmett’s arms.

There’s an epilogue which finishes off the series absolutely perfectly – giving us a glimpse of everybody’s HEA, and showing just how much this group all mean to each other, and it left me completely blissed out.

I adored this book, and the series is going down as an all-time fave.
