Are you ready for The Southern Wedding Series?
Things are supposed to go smoothly on your wedding day.
Aren’t they?

Harlow
I promised him I would be there for the best day of his life.
Not thinking I wouldn’t be the one standing next to him.
But here I was attending the love of my life’s wedding day.
I smiled when I saw him and pushed back the tears that wanted to come out.
This was his day and I was going to fulfill my promise.

Travis
It was supposed to be the best day of my life.
But the second I got up, things started to fall apart.
The kitchen just caught on fire.
Flowers were from a funeral.
My bride-to-be just had an allergic reaction leaving by ambulance.
Oh and my ex-girlfriend just walked into the church.
They say you have to see the signs when they are right in front of you.
Maybe she was just mine to have.

Review

“It’s you. It’s always been you.”

5 stars!

The first full-length book in Natasha Madison’s Southern Weddings series, this is a gorgeously emotional second-chance romance that is playful and sexy, with all the feels. I loved it!

Before you read this book, be sure to read the free novella Mine to Kiss, which is the beginning of Harlow and Travis’ story. Harlow is the daughter of Casey and Olivia from Southern Comfort, and she meets Travis at college where they are both studying to become veterinarians. They fall in mad love, but though they seemed destined to be together forever, it wasn’t to be.

It’s four years later when Harlow receives a wedding invitation in the mail for Travis’ upcoming wedding, and after a big ‘WTF?’ moment, she remembers the promise she made to Travis to be there for him on the happiest day of his life. At the time, she thought she’d be the one standing beside him, but she still plans to go, figuring it will give her closure if nothing else.

On the wedding day itself, things go from bad to worse for Travis when pretty much everything seems to go wrong. And then his world is rocked when Harlow enters the church. She was the girl who got away, and all it takes is one glance at her to know that he is making a horrible mistake. When, before walking down the aisle, the bride has an allergic reaction requiring a hospital visit and then promptly dumps him, all he feels is relief, and then the story really begins.

“What if I told you that I never should have let you go?”

Oh my God, Harlow and Travis together are MAGIC! It takes no time at all for them to find that easiness that always existed between them, and the chemistry and sense of for each other is beautifully emotional. I could feel everything between them as they reconnect, and the sexy time is out of this world hot. Holy hot damn, they are on fire together, and the emotion runs just as hot as Travis holds nothing back in winning back his girl.

“Letting you walk out of my life is the biggest regret of my whole life … Hands down, the worst day of my life. Hands down, the worst decision I ever made. Hands down, the biggest regret I’ve had.”

Travis stuffed up in the past. Big time. He knows it, Harlow knows it, and he’s on a mission to make up for the past and prove himself to Harlow again, and the man grovels like a champ! In scenes that had me madly swooning, he pours his heart out to her, and damn, I love a man who puts himself out there so honestly.

“This is everything.” I rub my thumb over her cheek, wiping the tear that is rolling down her cheek. “Seeing you again, it just … It made me see that there isn’t anyone out there for me but you.”

It’s honest and functional, and so easy for them to find their way back to each other. But they’re both older now, they have their own lives in different towns, and finding a way to move forward is going to be hard. They know that, but neither of them are prepared to let the other go, and watching them fight for their HEA is gorgeous!

I’m sitting here looking at her, talking to her, touching her, I know that there is going to be no one else for me. That she is it. She was always meant for me. We were always meant for each other.

I am a complete sucker for a second-chance-romance, and this is such a beautiful love story. Travis and Harlow have so much emotion between them, they hold nothing back in talking about their past and all that they are feeling in the present, and they move forward together functionally and honestly. There is minimal angst and drama, just a whole lot of swoon (and so, so much sex!), and I love these two together so much.

“I’m not letting you go this time.”

Their families are a big part of the story, and as much as I loved seeing Casey and Olivia, and all of the extended crew again, Travis’ family steal the show for me – particularly his three rowdy sisters, each of whom will get a book in this series. What a hilarious bunch! They tease and bicker, and have such a fun dynamic, and I’m so excited to continue on with the series and read more about them.

I absolutely loved this story. It’s beautifully swoony and romantic, and hit me right in the feels.

5 stars.

About the Author

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
