Things are supposed to go smoothly on your wedding day.
Aren’t they?
Clarabella
Did I want to get married today?
It’s hard to say when he proposed in front of over a hundred people.
Everything happened so fast, and I thought it was just nerves.
It was not.
The knock on the door showed me that what I was feeling was more than just cold feet.
I was a runaway bride.
Luke
The whole town was busy attending her wedding.
She was the one I let get away when I told her our night together was a mistake and then left town.
So I planned to spend the weekend getting drunk.
When she ran out of the church looking for a hideout, I opened the car door for her.
My cabin has one bed, and my longing looks don’t mix well.
Somehow, I have to keep my heart intact and her reputation together.
Maybe she was just mine to cherish.

This is the third book in the Southern Wedding series, a funny, sexy, friends-to-lovers/sort-of-second-chance romance that made me laugh and swoon, and I loved it.
It’s Clarabella’s turn to take a walk down the aisle. Her engagement was sprung on her with a proposal in front of all of her friends, family and colleagues, and she felt obliged to say yes. She’s been caught up in the wedding planning, and now it’s her wedding day and she’s feeling all sorts of nerves. And then a surprise guest flips her world upside down with news she was never expecting, and before she knows it, she’s dumped her douchebag fiancé and is sprinting out the door.
Luke is a chef who sometimes works with Clarabella and her sisters and their event planning business. The two of them spent an incredible night together six months previously, right before he took off for New York City and left her without a word. Now he’s back in town and gutted to find out that Clarabella is engaged. He’s on his way to spend the weekend drunk at his cabin and just happens to be right outside of where her wedding is taking place when she comes running out. What’s a gentleman to do other than help out a friend? So he sweeps her up into his truck and takes her with him to his isolated cabin in the woods… with no clothes, and one bed.
“There is no Wi-Fi?” I ask, shocked. “How can that be? There are signals everywhere.” I look around at the denseness of the trees. The sun has gone down, and the only lights are the headlights.
“The only thing the cabin has is running water and electricity,” he informs me.
“Is this The Hunger Games?”
It’s a fun set-up, made all the more awesome by the history between Luke and Clarabella, which brings chemistry to each and every scene. It’s clear that they have a thing for each other, it’s also clear that Clarabella’s engagement was a huge mistake, which clears the way for something to happen between them – even if she’s still pissed about the way he left her after their night together.
Let’s be real; there is nothing I hate about Luke. I mean, I’m sure once my head isn’t cloudy the way it is right now, I will come up with things to hate about him. Like having the best sex of my life and then leaving me. Yeah, hate that about him.
“Of all people to rescue me, it had to be you.” This is the universe kicking me in the vagina without even batting an eye.
They bicker and banter, and the sexual tension sizzles, and before too long, all of that chemistry explodes into super-hot sexy time. But so much more than sex, there’s an emotional element to it as they finally get a chance to explore all of those feelings that they’ve been trying hard to hide.
Just being near her does crazy things to me. Stuff that I’ve never felt before. With her, everything seems to come so naturally. With her, every single touch is like an electric shock. With her, every kiss feels like the first. With her, every single second I want to spend touching her, even if it’s just her hand or to tuck her hair around her ear. It’s fucking everything.
But real life is waiting for them, and though they’re both keen to keep exploring everything that is between them, Clarabella is worried about the perception that she is moving on so quickly. She left a mess behind, has a bitter ex fiancé, and does want everybody in town to see her flaunting a new man. It’s a bit of an awkward situation, and there is some drama as she picks up her life and they figure out what’s going on between them, but it’s not angsty, and I loved just sitting back and watching them sort it all out.
I love these characters. Clarabella is so relatable, and Luke is just gorgeous – funny and smart, he’s such a gentleman but with a side of wickedness, and I loved him. And Clarabella’s family are once again on deck, in fine form, and stealing every scene that they are in. They are such an entertaining bunch – their obvious care for each other but constant teasing and bickering is hilarious. They have zero boundaries, their group texts are freaking gold, and there are SO many moments in this book that had me laughing out loud at their antics and conversations. Poor Luke is swept up in the middle of it, and just goes with the flow (I mean, the poor man has little other choice). They are truly amazing, and I love seeing so much of them.
Luke and Clarabella’s love story is sweet, sexy, natural, honest, functional, sexy and emotional. It finishes beautifully, with an epilogue that provides satisfying closure, and that left me swooning.
Loved this one, and can’t wait for Presley’s story up next!
Travis: It’s like the family is cursed for weddings. Presley, I’m not coming to your first wedding.
Presley: AS IF AFTER WATCHING THE TRAIN WREK OF MY FAMILY TRYING TO GET MARRIED, I WOULD EVEN ATTEMPT IT! FUCK THAT SHIT. SINGLE WOLF FOR LIFE.

About the Author
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
