Reviews
This is a great collection of quick, fun and sexy reads. Featuring delightfully ‘nerdy’ and relatable characters falling hard and fast, these are perfect little feel good reads to snuggle down with, that will leave you with a smile on your face.
We didn’t read them all, but we loved what we read!
Not Just a Crush by Helena Hunting
When Dahlia heads to an Airbnb in the Colorado mountains for a girls weekend the weekend doesn’t go as planned. A snow storm prevents all of her friends from meeting her and she gets her stuck in a cold mountain home alone with wildlife just outside her door. Thankfully a mountain man comes to the rescue only to get snowed in with her. This mountain man isn’t just any man though, he is Dahlia’s secret high school crush and he lets it be known that he had a crush on her. Stuck alone in the cabin doesn’t leave them much to do so they make the best of it in and outside the bedroom.
Dahlia and Conrad are honest from the beginning and they decide to see what they were missing in high school. Not only is this short story hilarious, Dahlia and Conrad really turn up the heat when they decide to have some fun. It’s a quick read that puts a smile on your face and gives you a happily ever after. My only complaint is it isn’t longer. I didn’t want Dahlia and Conrad’s story to end!! Such a sweet treat!

Central Park by Jana Aston
This story is a hilarious. Liberty is going to NYU to get her masters and is hardly making ends meet. When she gets a high paying job as nanny, she couldn’t be more excited. Except, it turns out the single father is indeed single, he’s just not a father. While Mason thinks the whole situation is hilarious, she doesn’t agree but somehow she is still under contract with him even though there isn’t a baby to watch. She needs the money so she is determined to make it work even if there isn’t a baby.
Liberty and Mason are awesome together. I loved how they got to know each other and the flirty texts and entertaining banter are fantastic. These two make everything fun as they pretend there’s a baby to take care of. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife and I couldn’t wait for these two to give in to their attraction. I just loved Mason and even though Liberty was a bit clueless at times, I loved the relationship that forms.
Though it’s just a novella it was an entertaining read from the first page to the last. I enjoyed Liberty and Mason and thought they were both well written as are the unexpected feelings that grow. Such a fun read.
There is Also a Dog by Kayley Loring
This is such a fun little read! A city-based workaholic ends up in a small mountain cabin for the holidays. She’s not happy to be there, but she has enjoyed some flirty banter with the cabin owner. And when she needs help, her nerdy, flirtatious hero comes to the rescue.
Mitchell and Jillian are both so freaking funny. They have great chemistry, and their back-and-forth “flirxting” is so much fun. Things move hot, fast and steamy, and it’s a great beginning to a relationship, with an epilogue that finishes of this short story really sweetly.
It’s shorter than your average novella length, but I really enjoyed it. It made me laugh and I loved these characters.
Oh, and just like any good Christmas Hallmark movie, Mitchell also has a dog.
Pash, no Rash by Penny Reid
This is one quick read but it is entertaining nonetheless. It basically takes place in a bar and we get Audrey who is tipsy talking to herself when Elias sits down next to her. He’s an intimidating co-worker so she has kept to herself and been invisible when it comes to him. Or so she thought.
This story is basically a long scene in a bar but we get a good glimpse into Audrey and Elian in that time frame and I enjoyed both of them. I loved the way Elias talks to Audrey. She’s super smart yet doesn’t feel confident being herself when making small talk but sometimes people want to know you for who you are and Elias totally digs her. You can tell just the way he looks at her. I loved the sexual tension and their interaction. I also love that Penny, the bartender, is looking out for Audrey at the end!
Overall, I enjoyed this story and would love a full length novel about these two.
