Quarterback Sneak is the first book I have read by Kandi Steiner and it most definitely will not be the last. I love forbidden romances and sports romances and she has combined both into a wonderfully crafted story with all the angst, heat, and heart I could want. It was captivating from the start and I couldn’t stop from being fully invested in Holden and Julep’s lives.

Holden is the starting quarterback for North Boston University. Football is his life and nothing will stop him from going pro…until Julep enters his life. She is the coach’s daughter and she is off-limits to everyone on the team. The coach has made it clear that he will ruin Holden’s chances of going pro if he even looks at Julep too long. All he has to do is focus on football and keep his mind off of her. Easy, right?

Holden is such a great character. He puts his all into football and a great leader for the team. He has had more than his share of heartbreak and my heart hurt for all he went though. However, even though he suffered unimaginable loss, he did not give up and is determined to reach his goals. Nothing has made him question what he wants until Julep walks into his life.

There is something about Julep that captivates Holden from the first time he meets her. She has a sadness in her that he can relate to but she keeps it hidden to everyone else. He cannot stop thinking about her which makes it very hard to keep his promise to the coach, especially since she is interning with the team for her sports medicine.

Holden is a great guy and he just wants to focus on football and go pro but Julep changes everything. He is the one who pursues her which is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to these types of stories. I loved that he wanted to get to know her and showed her a side of himself most people don’t get to see. He understands her pain and gives her a shoulder to lean on. He never judges her and is honest with her from the start. He’s the person she didn’t know she needed and he changed everything.

He’s filled me with life, even when I hadn’t asked for it.

I love the forbidden aspect of this story. The slow burn start that turns into a raging fire of chemistry and sexual tension is so well written. I loved that when they cross the line, they go all in but I was definitely nervous even moment they snuck around. There was enough angst to keep my heart pounding but nothing over the top or unbelievable. I loved the way they were together and adored how things played out. The epilogue was icing on the cake and everything I could have wanted for these two. I loved it!!
