The second book of the To Be Claimed series, this is a direct continuation from the first book, Wounded Kiss. It picks up the story of Grace and Lizzie, who have been claimed as mates to members of the local shifter pack. They’ve both accepted their place, and are finding their way in their new lives.

Meanwhile, pack member Vince has also found his mate, a vampire named Veronica. It’s unusual to find a mate in a species that is a natural enemy, but Vince and Veronica are both very accepting of their fate. The romance in this series is very much supernatural-based, but it’s still enjoyable. As the wolves find their mates it’s so all-consuming, their whole lives shift, and it’s great to watch.

The book is written in multiple POVs as we follow each of the love stories, and there are some twists as they all look towards their happy endings. It ends on a cliffhanger, and I’m going right on to the next book.
