This is a gorgeous little addition to the Alabama Summer series, a novella revisiting Luke and Tessa, from book #2 in the series All I Want), as they struggle to start a family.

Luke and Tessa are married, happy and still blissfully in love. Their life is perfect, except that they haven’t been able to get pregnant. It’s an emotional situation, and with doctor’s appointments and tests, it’s stressful, but their relationship is strong and they’re determined to get through it together.

I loved revisiting this couple, and I thought that this was a really realistic story for them. We are used to our romance stories where the couple get their HEA and pop out a whole gaggle of children without any drama at all, but this story gives us a glimpse into a very common and painful situation that a lot of couples find themselves in.

Through it all, Luke is determined to be there for his girl, and his protectiveness over Tessa is ramped up even higher than it was before. It was gorgeous to see, and I love that after their angsty beginning, the intensity and strength of Luke and Tessa’s love for each other has only grown since they got together.

I don’t grip her like I’m desperate, but I love her desperately. It’s the only way I know how.

It’s an emotional ride, but there is a happy ending for these two, and though it’s perhaps a little bit unrealistic, I loved watching it happen for them.

The rest of the characters from the series are there taking Luke and Tessa’s back, and I loved seeing the whole group together. I love them all so much! This is a great little read for fans of the series.
