Blurb
Am I fake dating my best friend? Hear me out…
So I’m throwing myself a breakup party, a glittery fete where I envision I’ll lift a glass and celebrate being free and single again.
What I actually do: Drink too much champagne and blurt out to my best guy friend that I’d really like to get back on the horse.
But what I truly don’t expect is Carter’s answer – he volunteers as tribute.
With his sinful brown eyes and too-good-to-be-true body it’d be no hardship for me to say yes, though I certainly don’t want him to feel obligated to, um, service me, just because my failed, loveless marriage was a s-e-x desert.
But since the charming and confident pro football star owes five public dates to his dating app sponsor, we make a deal to help each other out.
Pretty soon, our public how to date lessons turn into, ahem, very private ones. And I’m a star student, graduating quickly from flirty banter and lingering looks to toe-curling, sheet-grabbing, mind-blowing hours of physical education.
The problem? Turns out learning to date again feels a lot like the real thing. Can our friendship withstand all these late-night bedroom sessions?
Especially since I’m suddenly longing for my best friend and there’s nothing fake about my feelings…

4.5 stars!!
Plays Well With Others combines friends-to-lovers, sports romance, and fake dating, and delivers and entertaining, swoony, sweet and spicy read. I devoured it.
Carter and Rachel have been best friends for ages and they are finally back in the same city. Rachael’s divorce is final and she is trying to move on but still carries around the scares left by her ex. Carter hasn’t had much luck in love and still has to do a dating series he’s committed to so he asks Rachel to help him out and what follows is a smoking hot, hilariously fun, sweet romance between besties.
Carter and Rachel are great friends but one accidental flashing puts new ideas in their heads. Ideas that belong in the bedroom. As they go through the dates these ideas grow and they decide that while he shows her how she should be treated on a date he could also show her what she deserves in the bedroom. These two light the pages on fire while also showing us how fun they can be. Carter is so sweet and I love that he wants to help Rachel heal from her awful ex and give her everything. And Rachel understands Carter in ways that we’re missing in his previous relationships.
Though they try to ignore their feelings so they don’t jeopardize they friendship, there is no denying these two should be together. They just fit and I love that there isn’t any drama for the sake of drama.
We’re no longer just friends.
But the thing is—we are still friends.
We’re best friends.
We’re just more now.
And the secondary characters are great additions to the story. We get characters from the previous book, My So Called Sex Life, and new friends to love. I can wait for more of this group as the series goes on!
