WOW! The Emerald City Author Event, held in Seattle, WA on April 29, 2016, was absolutely fantastic. It was my second event and it far exceeded my expectations. Not only was the lineup impressive, the whole experience was seriously amazing.
Black Heart Reviews hosted this event and they did an awesome job! The ECAE was extremely organized and efficiently run. The space was large, and though there were 50+ authors, it did not feel overly crowded. I was able to maneuver my large roller bag without difficulty and the lines were positioned in an orderly fashion. I felt the event ran smoothly and I could not have asked for a better experience.
The ECAE was from 12-5pm and though I was worried about getting all my books signed, I needn’t have feared. I ended up getting 82 books signed (OMG!!!) with plenty of time to spare. It always amazes me how wonderful the authors are. They each took time to meet me and made me feel as if we had all the time in the world to chat. I love how enthusiastic the authors were and how excited they were to meet their fans.
I ended up meeting 20 authors who were scheduled for the event and two authors that made a special appearance. Much to our surprise, Tarryn Fisher and E.L. James showed up at the signing. I am so excited that I got to have my picture taken with both of them. How cool is it that they surprised us?! They also surprised the attending authors and I loved that other authors were just as excited to meet them as we were.
The cherry on top was the dinner I was able to attend with Krista and Becca Ritchie! Can I just say that THEY ARE AWESOME?! My mom and I had a wonderful time getting to know them. I love all of their books and was thrilled to finally be able to meet them. I learned so much about self-publishing and my already high respect for the twins skyrocketed. I had no idea how much time, effort, and work went into making their books perfect, but that’s what they are, PERFECT!!
I met a bunch of awesome ladies who are booklovers just like myself and love networking. I have such fun at these events and look forward to the next one I am able to attend.
I loved meeting all of these amazing authors!
And of course, it was awesome meeting these two surprise guests!
I knew I would walk away with more books than I brought, but this is borderline crazy 😉
