The final book in the Sendaxa Chronicles trilogy, this is Tristan and Grace’s second-chance romance, and the story that gets us right to the heart of the action as our intrepid survivors team up to take down the bad guy and put a stop to their world rapidly devolving into a dystopian nightmare. It’s fast-paced, emotional, romantic and sexy, and I loved this one.

Before their world fell apart, Tristan and Grace were married and madly in love. Their devastating divorce coincided with the rise in power of evil dictator Luthor Cromwell, and they’ve now been apart for ten years. Grace’s life since then has been a complex battle for survival in the midst of danger, and when she is kidnapped, it’s Tristan who dives in to rescue the woman that he still loves.

“You’re my wife, Grace.”
“I
was your wife,” she replied softly.
Frustration entered his expression as he exhaled a slow breath. “You’ll be mine again. Mark my words.”

Oh, I love a second chance romance, and this one is all intensity from the very beginning. You can see that Tristan and Grace still love each other deeply, and as their past is untangled, we come to understand how it all fell apart for them. They both made heartbreakingly difficult decisions, but they did what they thought was best at the time, even if it left them both shattered. My heart ached for them.

“Let me love you, sweetheart.”

They don’t hide their feelings for each other, but they have a lot to work through, and their forced proximity makes them do just that. They open up to each other, they don’t hold back, and from the sweet and tender moments where they hold each other to the hot and heavy moments that bring the steam, I loved seeing these two together and finding their way back to each other.

“If we keep apologizing for the past, we’ll never have a future … And I want a future with you, Grace. God help me, I love you. You’re the only woman I’m ever going to love.”

Their reunion comes at a time when the resistance is coming together to take on Luthor and his army once and for all. Through multiple POVs, we get to see each of the three series couples in the lead up to the big fight, and I enjoyed watching all of the different elements come together as they prepare for battle.

After all the build-up, I confess I was expecting the big finale to be a bit more epic than it was, but we do get to see some action and it’s a satisfying ending to the conflict. And I really liked that there is an epilogue which gives great closure for each of the couples as they get their HEA.

I have really enjoyed this series, and I loved this final book. They are all quick reads that move at a great pace, with action, excitement, and three gorgeous love stories along the way.

Really enjoyable – 4 stars.
