Blurb

A small-town, forbidden, standalone, new adult romance with Footloose meets A Star is Born vibes from USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling author Jewel E. Ann

Her boyfriend’s older brother should be off-limits, but he’s a sinful temptation.

Sarah is a preacher’s daughter and a people pleaser. She’s also on the verge of graduating high school and following her dream of singing in Nashville. The only thing standing in her way is that the entire town of Devil’s Head, Missouri, thinks she will marry Matt, the son of the town’s richest rancher.

But Sarah’s not sure he’s her future husband, especially when his older brother, Isaac, returns home after serving six years in the Army. He has tattoos on his arms and bad habits that are not “father-approved.”

When he’s not working on the ranch or roping at the rodeo, Isaac hangs out in the barn, playing his guitar. He’s trouble, but Sarah’s music-loving heart gravitates toward him.

Isaac loves consuming Sarah’s mind, crawling under her skin, backing her into corners, and whispering inappropriate things in her innocent ears.

After weeks of playful banter and guitar lessons blurring the line between right and wrong, Issac makes Sarah a proposition she can’t refuse.

But when the unthinkable happens, and everything she knows is destroyed, will Sarah make the right choice?

5 “You belong with me” stars!

“Every day is Sunday Morning in my world.”

Sarah’s father is a pastor and he is strict, yet because he trusts her best friend, Matt, who is considered the “perfect child” of a family they’ve known for ages, she’s been allowed to date him. Sarah loves Matt, but while both families see a wedding in the future, Sarah and Matt know that after the summer when he goes to Michigan for college, they aren’t planning on staying together. It should be simple to just go their separate ways but nothing is simple when you know you could disappoint the people you love.

To complicate matters more, Matt’s brother Isaac is back in town after spending six years in the military and he can’t seem to take his eyes off of his brother’s girlfriend. When Isaac keeps running into Sarah, her whole world shifts and her faith is tested when she ends up falling for the bad boy.

This story is consuming. It’s a forbidden romance that sucked me in and wouldn’t let me go. I loved the characters, I loved the feels, and I loved the plot, even if it was hard to read at times. The author pushes boundaries and writes about things I would typically stay away from but somehow she writes them in a way that works for me.

Isaac’s gaze surveyed [my] body. It made me feel dirty and exhilarated. I loved it and hated it in equal parts. I was ingrained with godly, moral behavior, but here was a streak of rebellion woven between those grins of purity that seemed to grow every day, especially on the days when I interacted with Isaac.

Sarah and Isaac should not be together. Not only is she dating his brother, but he has a history that puts him in the bad boy category and there is no way her father would look past his indiscretions. However, these characters are complex, and I couldn’t help but love them both.

The chemistry and the sexual tension between Sarah and Isaac are palpable. They couldn’t not be together. The pull was just too much and even though they fought it, it was useless. These two were meant to be from the moment Isaac arrived back in town. I believed their attraction and felt their love grow. It wasn’t easy and it’s definitely messy but it’s full of raw emotion that fills you up.

It’s definitely a rollercoaster ride and just when you have the biggest smile on your face, tragedy hits.. I understood the healing Sarah had to go through and though things change, I love that Isaac stayed true to her, giving her what she needed. He never let her down and always put her first. Though there is heartache, there is also so much growth and love in this story. I loved it.
