Willow Kingsley is everything I don’t need in my life.
She’s sunshine and chaos dressed in a flower crown. She’s a wildflower in a world I’ve spent years trying to keep simple and quiet. She talks too much, smiles too easily, and doesn’t understand the meaning of personal space. Worst of all, she’s staying in my house for the summer, turning my carefully guarded world upside down.
I know I should keep my distance. People like her don’t stay, and I’ve had my fill of being left behind. But the more time I spend with her, the harder it is to remember why I built these walls in the first place. She’s getting under my skin—into my heart—and making me want things I’ve spent years trying to avoid.
Falling for Willow would be a mistake. She’s a free bird, and I’m the anchor she’s desperate to escape. But every time she looks at me, I can’t help but wonder: What if she’s not the one who’s meant to fly? What if, this time, I’m meant to soar?

5 stars!!
The Problem with Falling is the third book and the third 5 star read in the Problem series making this series one of my favorites. It features Willow, the youngest daughter of the Kingsley family and the most free spirited daughter. She left home to travel, finding new adventures along the way. One of her adventures brings her to Westin Lake, Wisconsin where she meets Theo while visiting his grandmother, Molly, who she considers a close friend. She’s in town for the summer to help plan Theo’s grandparents anniversary party and since Molly and Harry do not have room for her to stay with them, Molly lets Theo know that Willow is staying with him.
Theo and Willow couldn’t be more different. She has big feelings, loves people, is always happy. Theo stays away from people and doesn’t let them in, always hides his feelings, and is known as the town grump. From they moment they meet they butt heads. Willow has this amazing energy about her and Theo doesn’t want any of her light to seep into his dark world. He’s happy being alone, doing the things he wants to do and doesn’t want to deal with anyone new, especially Willow, who is just so friendly. But Willow has the biggest heart and finds herself breaking down Theo’s walls much to his dismay and they actually find a friendship.
As they spend more time together, Willow and Theo realize they may have more in common then they thought. Theo see’s Willow, really sees her and she is so much more than what she lets the people see. And Theo recognizes the pain in her eyes because he, too, has feel soul crushing pain. Their connection grows as they see each other’s hearts and just when you think these two can have everything, past pain and heartache threaten to take everything away.
This love story delivers an emotional read that stays with you long after the last page is turned. There is humor that makes you smile, heat that lights the pages on fire, pain that breaks your heart, and so much love that fills you up and makes you whole. It gives us well developed, complex characters that find a place in our hearts because we are invested in them both individually as well as a couple. Theo and Willow grow and learn from each other as they face problems from the past as well as new emotions in the present. And both experience wonderful healing so that they can finally be whole.
This story is not set in Honey Creek, Illinois but we still get to catch up with Willow’s sisters and her father who we’ve met in previous books. I also loved getting to know Molly and Harry. They had a love of a lifetime and I am so glad we got to see some of their love story in their own POVs as well as through their friends and family.
