The Kiss Lottery is a sweet, heartwarming, friends-to-enemies-to-lovers, small town romance featuring Everyly and Beckett. After high school, Everly left the small town of Rose, Tennessee with a broken heart. She has lost her best friend in an instant and never wanted to return. Years later, she is invited back to Rose for the annual Kiss Lottery. She’s intrigued by who could have sent the invite and decides she could work on her podcast while looking into the event.
Beckett’s parting words to Everly crushed her and he hasn’t seen her for ten years. Now she’s back in town and he doesn’t know how to feel. When these two are paired up for a date through the Kiss Lottery, they spend enough time together to realize that maybe the past can stay in the past and there’s a chance they can have a future with each other in their lives.
Beckett and Everly had a bad falling out and they never thought they would have the chance to face the past. But Beckett has some surprises up his sleeve and shows Everly how he really feels. It’s cute to see these two together. We get the more serious side of their story and why their friendship ended in the first place as well as the connection they once shared.
I love that Beckett knew what he wanted and pursued Everly even when she tried to push him away. I loved that they could finally open up and face what happened. This is such a sweet, swoony read that is sure to put a smile on your face.
