I crafted a perfectly simple life for myself and my son.
It was peaceful and lonely, exactly how I wanted it.
Then my new neighbor moved in and ruined everything.

Archer Green. Apparently not just a member of a motorcycle club, but the president.
The leather jacket on his broad back, along with all its various patches might as well have been red flags, warning me to stay away all the while his looks dared me not to.

Ignoring him was futile. Still, I tried.
Until Archer showed up in my son’s classroom, ready to read for storytime hour.
He’d found a way under my defenses…straight into my heart.

Except, our worlds couldn’t collide even if we were tempted to let them.
Not after we discovered a ruthless link we shared to someone from my past.
I’d always hoped for a fairytale, but even if I wished for a different ending to my story, Archer Green could never be a part of it.

Review

“I don’t care about your past, as long as I’m your future”

3.5 stars!

The first book in a brand new series by Ashley Munoz, this is a sweet and sexy single parent romance set in an MC world. With a sensational hero and a gorgeously swoony romance, this is a fantastic read.

Wren is a single mother and daughter of a crime boss who escaped her family to create a safe and quiet life for her and her son. She’s enjoying their newfound peace in a small town when trouble moves in next door – the President of the Mayhem Riot MC, Archer Green. Archer has taken a temporary step away from his club to settle in suburbia and prove that he is fit to take custody of his five year old brother. He is not the wild man that Wren immediately assumes he is, and when her son ends up in the same class as his brother, they find their lives intertwining. Archer shows that there is so much more to him than Wren initially assumed, and as he slowly and patiently proves that she can trust him, he sets out to win her heart completely.

“What are we doing, Archer?”
“We’re taking our time. You’re safe with me, Wren. Trust me.”

This is a gorgeous romance, and Archer is an absolute dream. He’s sweet and thoughtful, and is beautifully gentle with Wren, her son, and his brother. He’s got this playful side which is a lot of fun, and of course he’s sinfully sexy, and has a possessive streak which is super hot.

She was my match.
My equal.
Mine.

Though Archer is the President of an MC, there is actually very little time spent with the club. We do get to meet a few of the members, and the social aspect of the lifestyle is there, but it’s only a small part of the story. But the dangers the club are facing collides with Wren’s past in a climax that is suspenseful and brings some action.

What I didn’t know going in to this book is that’s it’s a sort-of spin-off from the Rake Forge University series. The characters from those books appear, as do their now-grown children, and I must admit I was a bit lost. I haven’t read those books and there’s a lot of complex dynamics at play, and I found it difficult to keep track of who everyone was and how they all tied together. I’m assuming we’ll get to read more about them in future books, and I’ll be interested to see where some of those stories go.

There’s a strong theme of family through the book, and I enjoyed that part of it, and loved watching Wren and Archer come together with their boys, find such an amazing love together, and create their own little family.

This is a great read, and I really enjoyed it.

3.5 stars.
