A sexy, small-town, grumpy-sunshine romance by bestselling author Stacy Travis
Ever heard the one about the rom-com princess who gets swept off her feet by her fake fiancé?
Yeah, that’s not my story.
I’m an actress whose reputation is currently circling the drain, thanks to a string of public relationship disasters. All I want is to adopt a baby and leave my tabloid trainwreck days behind me.
When the adoption agency doubts my ability to provide a stable home life, I agree to a fake engagement with a guy who screamed “PR-approved.”
Easy enough—until Archer Corbett blows it all to pieces.
He’s a broody, hockey-playing winemaker who makes grumbling an art form. He also hates my fake fiancé—pretty sure “douchebag” was in there somewhere—and doesn’t care who knows it. But when Archer rescues me on the side of the road and keeps me safe, I discover there’s more under his scowl than grunts and muscles.
A lot more.
Turns out, Archer has a guarded heart, a fierce loyalty to his family, and a self-sacrificing streak a mile wide. He’s also infuriatingly hot—and impossible to resist. One stolen kiss turns into carwash-steamy nights and a bond I didn’t see coming. But there’s a problem: he doesn’t want kids, and I can’t imagine a life without them.
Our lives don’t fit together. Our dreams are miles apart. But what if Archer’s exactly what I need to rewrite my story? And what if I’m the one to thaw his frozen heart?
If only this were a movie, I might get the happily ever after I’ve always wanted.

The fifth and final book in the Buttercup Hill series, this is a sweet and sexy grumpy/sunshine, celebrity romance for eldest Corbett brother, Archer.
Archer runs the family vineyard. It’s not the job he wanted, but he’s following the wishes of his ailing father and doing his part for his family, and his job is his life. He is broody and closed off and other than his family, he tends to keep to himself. Ella is a romcom movie queen who is planning her upcoming celebrity wedding to be held at Buttercup Hill winery, but her engagement to a country music star is completely staged to smooth out their public images
She’s bright and bubbly, he’s a grumpy introvert, but sparks fly when Archer and Ella meet. He initially isn’t keen on the new arrival who seems intent on hanging around his vineyard wanting to learn about the wine-making process, but the more the perky princess hangs around, he finds himself increasingly drawn to her, and when she runs into trouble, he’s there to help, proving that he is a good guy with a big heart, and Ella finds herself completely smitten.
The build-up between Archer and Ella is fantastic. From their early snark and banter to their sweet crushes on each other and slowly opening their hearts to each other, I felt everything, and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen.
“If you were mine, I’d feel…like I’d won. Like I’d never have to ask the universe for anything again.”
And when everything changes and they are finally free to explore their mad lust and growing feelings for each other, I was completely swept up in the swoon of it all.
Archer tips his forehead against mine and I feel the weight of his inhale, as though he’s wrestling with his conscience like he was the last time I saw him, trying to talk himself down.
“I want you more than I’ve wanted anything in my life, but I’m worried it’s not right.” His words sound choked and regretful. His eyes meet mine, assessing whether I agree.
“Stop worrying. It’s right.”
“Yeah?” There’s still sadness in his eyes, but his hands curl around mine, holding me in place.
I nod against his forehead. “I wouldn’t have come here otherwise.”
His chest rises and falls with another strangled breath. His hands slowly work their way up my arms, leaving goose bumps in their wake, until they roam over my shoulders and he’s cupping my chin in his hands.
“I’m glad you did.”
It turns out Archer is a hopeless romantic, and I was there for it! He’s sweet, tender, thoughtful and dreamy, and he throws himself into the romance. He falls hard, and holds nothing back, and I loved watching these two come together.
“This feels like the beginning of something that could get very, very good.” His voice is a sexy rasp.
But their lives are very different, and they know there’s a time limit on their time together. They have some pretty big challenges to deal with, but they’re both smart, they’re sensible, they truly want the best for each other and Archer’s family are there to support them both through it all. It may be a bumpy ride, but it was worth it to see them get their happy ending.
This is such a cute read. I loved the characters, their romance is functional and so sweet, and I finished this one with a smile on my face.
4 stars.

About Stacy Travis
It’s a rough world out there, and we all sometimes need a good, romantic beach read, even if we can’t make it to the beach. I’ve spent many lazy days walking the streets of Paris and other gorgeous European cities, and if I’m doing it right, I’m bringing you a dash of romance and a vacay fantasy.
I can’t sit still, so when I’m not hiking, biking or running, I’m playing a very average game of tennis. Background music for writing undoubtedly features some U2, Lizzo, Billy Joel, Pink, Taylor Swift, and Led Zeppelin. Not necessarily in that order. And if I could only eat one food group, it would be cheese. Or wine. Or bread. Are those food groups? Whatever.
