She’s the one woman I can never have. Now, I’m the only man who can keep her alive.
Ember
Being the daughter of a motorcycle club president means two things—power and protection.
But it also comes with one unbreakable rule: No biker touches the president’s daughter and lives to tell about it.
Which means Hudson “Atom” Addams, the club’s brooding enforcer and the man I’ve loved half my life, will never be mine.
Until the Bratva rolls into town, demanding protection money.
Now, my father is forcing me to accept Atom’s protection.
Close quarters. Late nights. And the one man I swore I’d never beg for again.
Atom
Five years ago, the woman of my dreams laid her heart at my feet.
I wanted to claim her. Keep her. Make her mine.
Instead, I let her go.
Butcher’s warning was clear—touch his daughter, and I’d be dead before sunrise.
So I buried my need for her and turned my back.
Now, the Bratva is making a play for her bar. And to make matters worse, she’s got a boyfriend.
I should walk away. I should let her go. But I’m not that strong.
Protecting her means breaking the rules. Claiming her means starting a war.
And I’ll burn this town to the ground before I let her slip away again.

This is the second book in the Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series. It’s an MC book, so obviously there’s a lot of character crossover, but you can read this one as a standalone.
Atom and Ember grew up in the Iron Outlaws MC. Their fathers were members, and they were close as kids and developed feelings for each other as teens. He became a member of the club, but by then Ember’s father was the club president and he had put a firm ‘hands off my daughter’ rule in place. Torn between his feelings for Ember and his love and loyalty towards the club, Atom chose the club and walked away from the girl he loved.
Ember Deeks just offered me her heart, and breaking it broke mine too.
Years later, and Atom and Ember are barely talking. She is a local bar owner with little to do with the club, and he is an Enforcer for the Outlaws. They’ve kept their distance, though are still in each other’s orbit, so we get this delicious tension full of desperate longing, but neither of them are doing anything about it. Atom is doing what he thinks is the right thing for his club, and Ember wants a man who is prepared to fight for her.
Both of us are torn. Stuck in this place where we can’t push each other away hard enough for it to be final, nor can either one of us step forward into the other.
The build-up is fantastic. I could feel their love for each other and their frustration at the situation they are in, but at the same time I completely understood why they wouldn’t act on their feelings. They don’t hide what they’re feeling, they’re both fully aware, and they’re sad, angry and frustrated, and oh, my heart hurt for them!
“I don’t know if I can watch you in a relationship with another man, Ember.” The words come out more gruffly than I intend. I have to swallow deeply once they are out.
A tear spills over her lashes, and that single trail breaks my heart. “Then pick me, Hudson. It’s not hard.”
When Ember becomes the target of the MC’s enemies, Atom is put on security duty, moving into her apartment and bringing the close proximity feels. It forces them together, and though Ember is still snarky towards Atom, there’s also flirting and teasing, and things start to change. The chemistry is fantastic, and as the danger increases, Atom realises what he has to lose, and they can’t stay away from each other any longer.
This is such a gorgeous romance! Atom is sweet and sexy, he’s seriously protective, and he’s so freaking swoony. The cowboy biker is a huge romantic, and I loved seeing him finally open his heart so completely. And Ember is a rockstar. She’s smart, strong and confident, she knows what she wants and what she deserves, and once these two finally decide to go for it, they’re honest and functional, and they are a dream together
“I love her, brother,” Atom says. “Always have. But for the last five years, I’ve tried to live up to my promise to Butcher. Tried not to lay my hands on my president’s daughter like he asked, but she’s always been my queen.”
But while they’re figuring it all out between them, they’re keeping it to themselves. The secret, forbidden element adds excitement and intensity, and brings fantastically dramatic scenes when everything comes out. There’s a whole lot going on with the club – they’re facing increasing danger, and there is violence, action and MC club politics and drama that create a darker feeling, and with strong themes of brotherhood, family and loyalty, I loved being back in this world.
I loved getting to know more of the club boys, and as a spin-off from the original Iron Outlaws MC series, we also get to see a lot of the boys from the original series, which was so good! There’s a great bunch of girls in this series with a hilariously entertaining book club, and I cannot wait for the next book for Smoke and Quinn.
Such a great read, I loved it – 4.5 stars.

The tattoo across my right hip says it all really. A Life Less Ordinary. Inked by the amazingly talented Luke Wessman at the Wooster Street Social Club (a.k.a. New York Ink). Why is it important? Well, it sums up my view on life. That we should all aspire to live a life that is less boring, less predictable. Be bold, and do something amazing. I’ve made some crazy choices. I’ve been a car maker, a consultant, and even a senior executive at a large retailer running strategy. Born in England, spent time in the U.S. and Japan, before ending up in Canada where I met my own, personal hero – all six and a half feet of him. Both of us are scorpios! Yeah, I know! Should have checked the astrological signs earlier, but somehow it works for us. We have two amazing kids, who I either could never part with or could easily be convinced to sell on e-bay.
I’ve wanted to be a writer for a really long time. Check through my office cupboards or my computer and you’ll find half written stories and character descriptions everywhere. Now I’m getting the chance to follow that dream.
